 big sigh

What a crazy two days this weekend has been. Saturday morning, Freckles is found in the front corner of the pasture. She had been there since Wednesday night or Thursday morning, but due to miscommunication, we did not even know she had not been seen for two days. It was a horrible sight. One that will give me nightmares for a long time.

Yesterday, we had some pretty bad weather come through, but it had cleared up by 1:00. We jumped in the pick up and headed for the pond to run the radio controlled boats for awhile. After about 4 hours of fun, we packed it all up and went to feed the horses and dogs. A small twister must have touched down on our barn, as half the roof was gone. The tin roof was in pieces, scattered over 40 acres. It was all twisted and crumpled up, some of the pieces were even bent in half. It took the roof over the dog pen off, and we don't know how the puppies didn't get sucked up in it. Poor little things, I bet they were terrified. The twister even moved our little trailer we use when we go boat racing about 6 feet. We found the horses in the front pasture, in the exact same spot that Freckles was found. I can't remember the last time I saw them in this spot....I wonder if they were looking for her. They were so spooked that they would not even enter the barn. They ended up eating out of the hay trough outside.

That's terrible! We had one nearly rip our roof off not long ago.  That's why we're househunting. We want something a little sturdier. A good wind could blow us over right now and there are plenty of good winds in Texas. Glad you're okay, hon! Missed reading your page while you were away. I wondered what happened to you.

I'm really sorry to hear about Freckles.  We had the same scary weather on Saturday; tornado warnings all around.  I had to cancel taking some teenagers to Six Flags for a concert.

Sorry about Freckles, but I'm glad everyone else is OK...we don't get tornadoes here, but I grew up in the midwest, so I can relate.

that is too bad about freckles. I am glad to see you back....that must have been kinda scary to find the roofs off of so much. I am glad that the puppies are ok as well as all the other animals and you.
