| | Just got home..long weekend at work. This must have been 'take an asshole to Wal mart' day. Sorry, but most of the folks I waited on today had giant size attitudes.
When I arrived home last night, there was a message to call my mother-in-law. I usually don't get home until 11:30 or 11:45, so I knew it must be important. When I called, we did the chit-chat thing for a bit, then she finally told me the reason she had left the message. She was at church on Wed. night, at choir practice, (she plays the piano for her church) and her vehicle was broken into and her purse was stolen. (The irony of this was not lost on me.) They broke the driver side window and broke the seat to get in.
She is one of those women that carry her whole life in her purse. This truly makes me angry. This woman is such a good hearted person. No matter what life has thrown her way, I have never heard her complain. She has so much faith that things will always turn out ok. She has made me feel a part of the family from our first meeting.
She lost her money. A check that she had made out to 'cash' and didn't have time to make it to the bank because she was running late for choir practice. Her address book. She lost her social security card and driver license and bank card. But, what upset her most, is that they took the pictures she had in the backseat. Pictures of our wedding...pictures of her family at Eastertime. These are the things she cannot replace.
She feels violated. Whoever did this has so much vital information about her and her family. She feels threatened. She is hurt and that pisses me off. |
