The Trip to HendersonBernie and I decided to take a trip to Henderson Thursday to catch what we could of the Freed lectures, but mainly to meet up with some very special friends. The trip started out great. The day was sunny and Bernie had charge of the map. While he watched Jonah, I drove. (He cannot watch a DVD and drive at the same time.) After checking into our hotel we found our way to the university. Neither of us have been there. One of our friends was in one of the forums, so we waited out in the car. Before long there was my good friend, Allen coming towards me. Bless his heart, he took me to his house and then cooked for me and a friend (now my friend too) of his.
That night we went back for the singing. I handed Bernie to Allen. I don't think Allen is comfortable with cotten headed Bernies Don't worry, no cotton was lost during the encounter.
On the way back to the hotel, I visited a Walmart, 'cause thats the kind of thing I do. I found a little man who says all the right things. I kid you not. He says "Here, Honey. You take the remote. This game isn't that important." and "Here, Honey, You just sit and relax and I will make dinner tonight."...
This morning we loaded the car and headed back. Bernie now has a friend to help him guide and navigate the car when it is parked.
Soon it was time to travel back to Bartlett. Bernie was buckled in with his buddy. Before long the journey got interesting. What started out as a sprinkle or two of rain became heavier. The closer we got to our destination, the heavier it got. Now, I know this is nothing compared to NorthDakota, but for me, it seemed like a lot. By the time I drove into my driveway the snow looked pretty thick. The best part....I am now home and I don't have to go anywhere....
