  • This weekend was spent in the company of Excel. I spent the bulk of it massaging numbers for Book of War in a frenzy of final calculation, and I'm finally almost happy with the results. I'll never be truly happy, because a truly realistic kingdom economic system would be dull and unplayable, but these numbers pass a certain 'sniff test' of balance. Mailed off to my editor.

All next month: Writing something I can't talk about yet. A small clue:"Go, before we taunt you a second time!"

I may end up with three books "By Lizard" by the end of summer. Not bad, considering my first pro gaming work was done in late 2000. First article to solo author in three years -- I can't suck *that* badly. I suppose. Maybe. Or it could be that, when I can't hide my work in with the work of other writers, my true incompetance will be shown to the world.

Sigh. Things my wife and I have in common:Procrastination, packrattedness, and poor self-image.
