Fashion
So this entry is a slight departure from my usual entries, but I have to say,
I *really* love what's going on in fashion right now.
Dresses are back!
Flats are staying strong.
Women are going back to their trusted blazers and standby classics.
I don't even mind leggings as much as I used to:
(Just keep in mind, ladies, leggings are *not* pants.)
Some of my personal favorites, which I stock up on at every opportunity:
The white dress shirt. Pair it with jeans and brown sandals (I dislike metallics) and you look instantly put-together.
Well-constructed satchels. Handbags are one of my only addictions (books too, I keep a balance) and I can spot quality a mile away.
Levis. My god, I love me some Levis jeans. They last forever and come in "short" sizes that make me look proportionate instead of shrunken.
Bold glasses. I'm near-blind and proud. Spending big money on frames is perfectly reasonable, I mean, they go on your face.
What are your fashion staples? Do you care about fashion?

I should go shopping, I have only old things in my closet anymore. As an adult things just fit me a long time, and take forever to wear out, and I just end up not changing things out
I don't know a thing about fashion, but I do know when someone who says they are fashion conscious and where whatever is "in season" looks rediculous in an outfit (for example, Bjork's famous swan dress). You seem to keep it simple and in good taste.
I'm kind of like wxcruiser, I find something that'll last me a long while and probably shop once a year.
I'm only going to law school to be able to finance my neiman marcus trips. I'm actually so lame that I want to go to law school so that I can represent a major fashion house, so I can get clothes. justice be damned! i want prada!
i love white dress shirts.. i buy them constantly. I've been buying a great deal of vintage dresses lately.
My husband just got a pair of killer prada glasses, and I considered buying a pair with clear lenses for myself, (to look intellectual! haha), but thought that it might be a bit much. (and I could just buy shoes instead)
I follow the fashion trends of 18 year olds, but I am a blank slate right now. I've been collecting NYC hip-hop gear lately, but I'm not sure why... I just haven't figured out how to tie all the sensibilities I imitate into one cohesive whole.
My school consists mostly of gangsta wannabe's. So I'm constantly bombarded by that style, so I'm not sure what's fashionable in the real world.
only the girl with the leggings looks like someone I'd like.. so it's leggings for this kid, I guess. Now to choose a colour..
Levis are great because I have weird leg:waist ratio.
Button up shirts, T shirts, and the casual jacket.
Simple!
I don't care that much about fashion but I don't like looking like shit?
Yeah, all that stuff looks chic and mature rather than trashy and uneducated. I really like it. Maybe the world is finally coming to something.. then again, I'd rather not have all the dopey girls get into the "educated" clothing look. Totally unfair deception robbing us of our worth, haha. I like what you said about leggings not being pants, that drives me bonkers.
I don't care all that much for fashion. Well, in my head I do and when I'm shopping, with my eyes I do, but for now I fit incorrectly into everything (I feel yuh on the looking shrunken in jeans thing)
@sahel578 - heh heh, I started wearing clear-frame glasses when I was 14 or so, tre-chic! I was sort of excited when I found out I really needed glasses.
I'm always excited to meet someone with ties to the fashion industry, when you make it, keep me in mind!
I wear docker pants and Tommyhilger Dress or Nautica dress shirts, It never changes for me.
I like everything here except the leggings.
My uniform. (lol) Seems like work is the only place I go anymore...
I'm happy about the dreses thing, and also the blazer thing. I look totally grown up in blazers.
First, I'm sorry for running rampant across your xanga. I saw a feature, was curious, but I don't comment features. At least, I try not to, but I couldn't just sign out. I think it's rude to shuffle through pages upon pages and not say a thing to the writer.
Second, It's 3:05am and I said I was going to go to bed an hour ago, but I kept finding tidbits I liked here and there that you wrote. And then, wow, I saw tonka and went on a search for adorable pictures.
Third, thank you. Thank you for the "leggings are not pants". I work in a tourist town. Today, two girls walked by my little airbrush stand. One was wearing black leggings and a white t-shirt. To top off this oh-so-wonderful and appropriate outfit, she wore pink crocs on her feet. Now, her younger sister must have been borrowing some fashion tips because she was wearing light pink leggings... and these adorable little white underwear adorned with various flowers.
Sigh.
I can't stop going into the past of your xanga. It's quite a good read.
