| | I seriously love my neuroscience profs!
They're absolutely hilarious. I think I posted some of their practical jokes before but here are some more recent ones.... (I'm sure these are much more funny if you're there and you know these people but I'm so amused that I wanna share them anyways)
So about a month ago Dr Nolte (our main neuroscience prof) made a joke about Dr Todd Vanderah (another Neuroscience prof) being a 40 year old virgin cuz there had been an announcement on the board saying that people were gonna go see the 40 year old virgin (the movie) at such and such a time. Nolte said to the class that when he saw that announcement he thought that it had been in reference to Todd.
So anyways, on Monday, Nolte put up a slide with Todd's picture and a label that said the 40 year old virgin. Last week the Medical students for choice club had been selling condomgrams (packets of a few condoms and a piece of candy) as a fuindrasier and apparently Nolte had bought a TON of condomgrams and had the people who were distributing it give the condomgrams to Todd in the middle of class when the slide of him as the 40 year old virgin came up. It was sooo funny cuz Todd was all.. "I'm not a virgin!!! I have kids that look remarkably like me and I can even show you the pictures!" Nolte also cracked some joke using Todd as well as a mock case history of a guy who couldn't see and then put up a pic of Todd with hands over his eyes. Then he said that he told the patient that in order to see he had to take his hands off his eyes and then put up a pic of Todd with his eyes shut and then finally saying that they had healed the patient by telling him that he needed to open his eyes. (This lecture dealt in part with patients who think that they really have some sort of disease when they actually don't have anything physically wrong with them). Anyways, Todd told us that he would get Nolte back today (Fri) since he was lecturing then.
Oh, this week teaching awards were given out to profs and Nolte also got Todd the "Condom King" award. Heehee.
So today, Todd is in the middle of his lecture and tells us that he has a prop to help us learn the class material and he has to go out into the hall to get it. So he goes out and comes back with a bald wig with little tufts of hair around the bottom edge kinda like Nolte's hair (Nolte is mostly bald now), wearing birkenstocks and with a fake little earring in his hair. Essentially, Todd was pretending to be Nolte. It was absolutely hilarious! He also had a couple strips of condoms sticking out of his back pocket.  Later in lecture, Todd put up this slide of this guy running butt naked across a golfing green with security people chasing him. The naked guy has "The 19th hole" with an arrow pointing down to his butt painted on his back. Todd goes on to say that the guy was never caught cuz he had people helping him in the crowd who helped him put on clothes really fast and that the police only had one clue. He then put up a pic of Nolte's birkinstocks as the sole piece of evidence and suggested that if any of us knew who those shoes belonged to that we should call in that knowledge.
The lecture today was stuff that gives sort of a rewarding stimulus in the brain which encourages us to continue certain activities. We were talking about food and how eating foods we like set off reward centers in the head and stuff and then Nolte had one of the female students in the back ask Todd if that was related to why Oysters are considered an aphrodesiac. haha Todd was like... "Nolte did you put her up to that???" And refused to answer the question. haha. Nolte spent most of class laughing so hard that he was turning red and practically crying. Sooo fun. 
There were a few other jokes during class but those are less obvious without more background. |
