Ugh this is dumb

Yes, let's make it easier to have unplanned children!

I suppose if people wanted to give birth control anyways they could do it under the category of "menstrual irregularities" rather than saying it's really being used for birth control (or abortion as this is looking to call it). But it's still silly. Just like when I was on my OB/GYN rotation at a hospital that was affiliated with the Catholic church. They had no information on birth control because they had tossed them out when they feared some religious figure was coming to visit. Binders were unlabeled because they contained things that probably wouldn't be approved of in terms of pro-choice things. We weren't technically suppose to talk about birth control with women when they came in for check ups either after they were pregnant or if they were just coming in for regular women's annuals. However, we did sort of suggest the issue if they were fairly young and had children (esp multiple children) and if they were interested, we'd give them something under the "menstrual irregularity" category. Women who were planning on a c-section for their babies and wanted a tubal ligation at the same time weren't able to do so. we'd have to tell them they'd either have to have their baby with us and go somewhere else and have a 2nd surgery to have the tubal ligation or just do everything, having the baby and the tubal at a different hospital. Ridiculous! we were making women go to a hospital where they hadn't been followed and where none of their charts were available (although we can send the pertinent info there) just because they don't want to go through 2 surgeries and therefore have to recuperate from 2 separate surgeries. I dunno.. just is silly to me.

If you're done with your child bearing then that should be your choice. If you're not ready to have a child, then that's yor choice. If you consider that life begins right when the egg is fertilized even before implantations, then women are having a TON of spontaneous abortions a year because there is a really significant number of eggs that are fertilized but do not implant and therefore never become a full blown pregnancy even without birth control.
