| Bad football teams...TAMU, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Virginia Tech. Now West Virginia and VT may not be that bad because East Carolina is actually a good football team but TAMU and ND are pathetic. At least TAMU has a win under their belt now which may make things easier the rest of the season. Every year TAMU and Notre Dame have high expectations and every year both teams fail to reach their goals. Why I ask? Both teams do have very large fan bases. Brady Quinn must be the best QB in recent years in college football judging by how pathetic Notre Dame has been since he has left. ND should have lost today to crummy San Diego State... the only good thing to come out of SDSU is Marshall Faulk. I am not a ND fan but I guess because I went to TAMU I am a fan by association. These teams need to return to glory because their fans deserve it. | | |
| Wedding ReceptionThis past weekend I went to a friend's wedding reception in Austin which was pretty fun. The reception was at the Salt Lick! Awesome barbeque! I got to see a few of my "old" college buddies which was a good refresher from life out in the NM. If anyone else decides to have a wedding reception, have it at the Salt Lick and make sure you invite me too... but only if its at the Salt Lick! not really... I will still come no matter where it is but you will get bonus points for good food! | | |
| Jet Black StareSure they are your typical rock band... most songs sound similar but I like them. You should check them out. Their album titled "In This Life" has quite a few tracks that I like such as the songs "Every Moment", "Ready to Roll", "Rearview Mirror", "The River" and "Bad Girlfriend" Oh wait, bad girlfriend is by another band called Theory of a Dead Man. That song makes me laugh because its so dirty. hahahaha... if you are into crude humor you will get a kick out of that song. | | |
| Guadalupe PeakGuadalupe Peak is the highest point in Texas reaching its summit at 8,749 ft. I conquered this 9 mile trail in 4 hours with Taylor just last weekend. I plan to go back to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park tomorrow to venture on another trail. I've got to take advantage of living out here while I can... it's not everyday you can drive less than an hour to get to national park with a multitude of trails to hike on. There's actually quite a few places I can go to within 2 hours of Carlsbad and I plan to go to all of them within the next 2 years. I'll tell you about my experiences barring a rattlesnake bite, falling off a cliff, bear attack, or being eaten by cannibals, etc. Every now and then I may even remember to take a few pictures and post them online (if you're lucky). | | |
| Favre is now a NY JETFavre. Brett Favre. The face of a franchise for over 15 years has been traded away. There truly is no loyalty in sports anymore, it is all about business now adays and that makes me sad. I know Favre retired and told the Packers on draft day he was going to stay retired but this is the same guy who pretty much single handedly revived a dying franchise. I know every team relies on all people on the field to succeed but if I could say that anyone single handedly won games for their team... it would be Brett Favre. It's just about the way he plays the game, how he makes everyone around him play on another level, how everyone respects him so much. He puts fear on the minds of every defense that faces him pretty much every game. Favre is undoubtedly one of my favorite players of any sport. I just love his passion for the game. I knew he wouldn't stay retired... I mean who didn't? Honestly, the way he played last year and witht he passion he has played every year how could the Packers not know he would come out of retirement. The Packers just went from Super Bowl contenders to middle of the road 8-8 team maybe even 7-9 or worse team. This all happened with one decision. I think Favre would have played a couple more years for the Packers and by then... Brian Brohm would be trained up to take his spot or maybe there would be somebody on the freemarket to pick up. I just don't see how Aaron Rodgers could do well after all that has happened. Was he even really that good in college at Cal? If I remember correctly, that year Texas Tech of all teams DESTROYED Cal. Every single year Cal is over-rated with their easy schedule they get alot of wins. Sure they destroyed TAMU last year but I know TAMU sucks in big games... who doesn't know that? Anyways... I really hope Favre still comes back. The Jets aren't that bad... sure they are in a tough division but I think the Patriots reign is coming to an end pretty soon. Favre is king and he needs to continue playing. Please? | | |
