Brooks' surgery went well. Boy am I glad THAT is over!! I think it was more traumatic for me than for him though. He was SO MAD when he woke up from the anesthesia. Poor guy. He was screaming and hitting and throwing his head back and trying to pull the IV out of his arm. He did that for almost 45 mintues! When the finally took the IV out he settled down a little bit but Andy had to hold him because while he was throwing such a fit I could barely hold on to him...he's strong! When we got home he ate a little and then took a long nap. When he woke up from his nap it was like nothing had ever happened! He's been doing fine ever since. That was on Thursday. Friday night was the wedding rehearsal for the wedding he was in this weekend. He was a bell ringer. I think it might be a southern thing but bell ringers walk down the aisle just before the bride and ring bells to let everyone know the bride is about to arrive. I was nervous about what would happen but he did SO WELL! There were about 8 of them, most of them 3 and 4 year olds. Brooks was the youngest. He didn't exactly ring his bell but he did walk down the aisle! TOO CUTE! Here's a picture I managed to get while holding Liv. (that's why it's a little fuzzy) He's the littlest one holding the other little boy's hand.
Here he is with Erin and Thomas...the bride and groom.
And here's the four of us. (this one cracks me up cause it looks like Olivia is about to bop Brooks on the head!)
Well, that's all for now. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

God is so faithful to provide for our needs! Two major things have happened this week that I want to share because I know many of you who read this will pray with us and for us.
First of all, I think most of you know that Andy is in school full time now working on his Ph.D. and that I stay home with the babies. Because of this, we have virtually no income. We have just been trusting that God will work out the financial details for us and somehow get our bills paid. Recently we were getting a little nervous because the money we had saved was beginning to run out. Starting the first of the year, we won't have much at all. But earlier this week, Andy got a letter in the mail that said he would be getting a $7,000 grant! Money we'll be given and NOT required to pay back! We were shocked! What a blessing! This was completely out of the blue...money we had NO idea we would be getting! Just goes to show that if you honor Him, He'll take care of all your needs!
Secondly, we have been in the midst of a very unpleasant health insurance situation. I'll spare you all the details but basically the babies will be without health insurance from January through March. And (as you mommies of young ones know) babies have ALOT of doctor visits their first two years with all the vaccines and such. We weren't sure how we were going to find the money to pay for their 6 and 18 month well visits that were scheduled for the first week of January (because they couldn't fit us in this month). Well just yesterday, Andy called their doctor's office about something else and asked one more time if there was any way they could fit us in because of our insurance problem...well, they had an appointment this morning! WOOHOO! As if that wasn't wonderful enough, there's more... Brooks has been having some problems with his eyes and today his doctor said that we needed to take him to an opthamologist to have them looked at. Well, it just so happens we know one personally (from where my dad worked and my mom still does). I called and they said to bring him on in and were able to see him right away. So, THAT will be covered by our insurance too! The only bad part is that Brooks is going to have surgery next Thursday (Dec. 27th). He has blocked tear ducts that have to be probed. It will require general anesthesia. This has me feeling VERY anxious! So, if you guys could pray that everything will go well, we would REALLY appreciate it! Dr. Taupeka is the surgeon and I trust him very much...he was a personal friend and coworker of my dad and Dad always said he was the best at what he does. So I know if my dad were here, he'd feel very confident and comfortable with Brooks in Dr. Taupeka's hands. And although this gives me a great deal of comfort...I'm still very nervous. So, if you think of it, thank God for providing so much for us this week before the celebration of His Son's birth and also pray for us as we go through this surgery situation. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

TOO FAST
It seems like life is buzzing by way too quickly! It's less than two weeks from Christmas and that just seems crazy. Its been so hot down here too, and that doesn't help with the Christmas spirit any! Last night it went down into the 30s though so maybe we're going to be a little chilly for Christmas...you never really know around here though.
Andy has a new project he's working on and boy is it a doozie!! The back acre of our property was not maintained (or touched in any way) for over 10 years. Therefore, it was so heavily wooded, you weren't even able to walk through it. So, a few days ago Andy started clearning it out. It's a huge project and not anywhere close to done but he has managed to do alot in just a couple days. Check it out:
This is the first day after some work had been done.
It doesn't look like that much but really it is! And here's what Brooks did all day both days:
He sat in that chair and watched them work for practically two days straight! He's never been that still for that long! Lol! I'll keep updating with more pictures as they continue to work.
Oh, pray for my mom when you think about it...she bought a house and they close on it tomorrow. She's really nervous and I think it's gonna be harder than she realizes to move out of the other house. (hard for me too!) Thanks!

Life has just calmed down...just in time for the busy holiday season! I can't believe it's already Thanksgiving! I haven't even STARTED thinking about buying Christmas presents. I guess I'd better get on the ball. But I've been so busy with the show that I haven't had time to think of much else. Speaking of the show, it went wonderfully! The first weekend we had fairly good crowds and everyone really emjoyed it. Then the 2nd Friday I guess people had been talking because we had so many people show up that we had to turn people away! WOW! So needless to say, the 2nd weekend was great too! It was so much fun...probably the most fun I've ever had in a show. Great people to work with...some of my old friends, and I made a lot of new friends too! Very cool. Here's a couple of my favorite pics from the show. (check out some more on Facebook...where I will eventually get them posted!)
Pretty funny, huh!? Anyway, hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
**Edit: Here's a video of a couple of the numbers also if you're interested.

Busy as Bees
Wow we have been busy! I can't believe it's been almost a month since I wrote last. I've been rehearsing like crazy...the show opens in less than two weeks! Yikes! I'm not so sure we're ready. I guess we'd better GET READY!
The weather has cooled off a little and it almost feels like fall. At night it's getting down right chilly...one night went down to 48! But during the day we're still up in the 70s. Of course, that feels WONDERFUL compared to the 90s we were just having.
Main thing is, I have a prayer request. At Olivia's 4 month well visit, the doctor was really concerned about her weight. She had only gained 2 ounces since here 2 month visit so she only weighs just over 11 pounds. She's a peanut! Anyway, we have another appointment on Friday to see if she's gained any more. We've had to supplement her with formula and try to get her to eat as much as possible these two weeks b/c if she hasn't gained the appropriate weight on Friday it will mean testing and bloodwork and such that we'd rather not have to make her endure. So, if you think of it, pray that she will have gained enough weight that she won't have to have all those tests!
Have a great week! Happy Halloween!
