I wonder if you laughed
when you locked her in the closet
and didn't answer to her mewing
and weren't disturbed by
the sound of ripping pages.
You forgot her in there.
Half a day later I opened
the broken sliding door
to a racing white object
and the first thirty pages of
my senior yearbook
crumpled
into
indistinguishable
balls
of glossy paper.
