Biracial "Young and Restless" star advocates for foster care
CVKBermuda's Royal Gazette profiles Victoria Rowell, who plays Drucilla Winters on the soap opera "The Young and The Restless." Rowell is an advocate for foster children, as she grew up as one herself:
Ms Rowell, who was a foster child for 18 years, speaks from experience. Her birth mother put her in foster care when she was only 16 days old.
Initially she was with the Taylors, who were a white couple who went to court in an attempt to adopt her, but they were told they could not because although she is of mixed race, she was classified as black.

I first heard about Victoria Rowell's commitment to foster care issues on a magazine-style news program. Props to her for using her celebrity status for a good cause!
Additional eprops to photographer David Skinner, who captured the vivacious Ms. Rowell in Bermuda's fantastic lighting!
