• Mariah: new book, new album, new ... play?

  As previously reported here at Mixed Media Watch, Mariah Carey will be penning a series of illustrated children's books about a biracial orphan girl. MTV News reports the books will be titled "The Automatic Princess," which is the same name Carey uses for her fashion and accessories line.

  Carey is also working on her new album, on which she's collaborating with top producers like Kanye West, R. Kelly, Swizz Beatz. The album will be released on her own imprint, MonarC through Island/Def Jam.

  Okay, here's the bad news: she's taking another stab at acting! After "Glitter," the trainwreck that was her film debut, she's decided she has the chops to join a London West End play called "The Sleeping Prince." Only die-hard Mariah fans will be able to appreciate that!
