  • Time flies when you're having fun

One year ago today Khale and I got to meet the most beautiful little girl in the world.

Lillian is nolonger a baby - today is her very first birthday. It feels like she's grown up so fast but at the same time I feel like she's always been part of our lives. This past year has been the best of my life.

  • It's Already May?

I feel like ever since I became a mother that time has just been flying by. When we first moved out here I thought that three years sounded like such a long time and now we're almost done with the second year and when we get back in the Fall, we'll only have 9 months left in Cambridge. Leaving here for good is going to be such a bittersweet thing. On the good side, it'll be fabulous for Khale to be done w/ Harvard Law and we'll be excited about moving to Cheyenne permanently, setting up our first house and all the fun stuff that goes with that. However, it will also be kind of sad to leave the place where our lives as a married couple first began, leaving the city Lillian was born in, and leaving all of our friends. Luckily, a few of them will be moving out West as well so we'll still be near-ish so we'll still be able to see them every so often but still, it won't be the same. Oh well, I guess all good things must come to an end.

Speaking of things ending, Lily is in the process of abandoning her time as an infant. She's starting to be a little more daring with trying to stand on her own (and would be pretty good at it too if she didn't think it was so much fun to fall into my arms) so I know it's only a short time before she starts walking. Ah, they grow up so fast. Seriously. Also, Lil is HUGE. I know that because Khale and I are both tall that it shouldn't surprise us that our daughter is too but according to her pediatrician, she's like in the 100th percentile for height. She's as tall as some of my friend's babies who are nearing 2. Poor thing, all too soon people will start pestering her with questions about her playing basketball (btw, something only people in the South ever do...I have no idea why tall people are such a novelty there).

This time of year the Boston Garden and Common become gorgeous and have an abundance of blooming flowers and trees. We decided to take Lil there for a photo shoot the other day. We didn't get too many good shots b/c she was too distracted by all the dogs and people walking by.

Here she is merely trying her best to make weird faces at the people walking by us. She loves attention from strangers and has learned that this face produces the best results.

A Night with the Green Monster

    S6300766

Thursday night Khale and I got to go to a Red Sox game. Red Sox games are crazy, mostly b/c Sox fans get REALLY into it but it's so much fun that way. The game we went to was their third here in Boston so the fans were a little extra happy. Anyhow, it was a really fun night, Lily had a babysitter and little friend come over (apparently Lily cried when Ella's Dad came to get her but not when Mom left. Ouch!) so it was just the two of us...something that doesn't happen too often. :)

The Detroit Tigers got their bottoms whipped by the Sox.

Sadly we don't own any Sox gear...but we were feeling the team spirit nonetheless.

Lil has started wanting to walk. She's been having quite a few playdates the past couple of weeks and at each play date the babies tend to be a little older than her so they're already walking around. Lil's gotten envious and now she loves walking around while holding onto my fingers...or furniture.

This is my new favorite of Lil's shirts b/c it's not really all that babyish looking. I got her the cutest pair of shorts the other day at Target which she looks adorable in...she has the cutest little muscular legs (which she must get entirely from the Lenhart side because us Diff's don't have the most impressive legs).

Well that's about it from me for a little while, it's time to "buckle down" (as my mother always says) and get some school done since the year is rapidly coming to a close. *Hallelujah!!*  I'm contemplating taking a one week intensive Special Education (as part of the Education degree...not b/c I need a little extra help mentally) this Summer from LCCC but we'll see if that ends up happening. Either way, it'll be really nice to get a break from school for a little while and just focus on being a wife and Mommy.

    Liar

Yes, I lied. It hasn't even been a full two months and here I am back on Xanga. Turns out that Blogger isn't quite as much fun...but that could be entirely because I don't really know how to do everything on there. I'm a Mom now which means I'm getting older which means I don't have time to learn how to use all those new things the young whipper snappers out there are into. :) I'll still probably post on that one occasionally but I'm going back to my beloved Xanga for the majority of my blogging...at least for a little while.

Speaking of getting older, I'm 20 and I already have a wrinkle! What the heck?! This morning while I was going through my morning beautification ritual I noticed a jagged line across my forehead. I blame Lil; people always say that having children gives a person grey hair and wrinkles but I didn't think it would come so soon. Luckily we've been holding out on the greys.

Let's see, what else is new? Oh, I got my hair chopped off the other day. Yes, my ridiculously long hair has finally met its end. I just decided that the time had come where I needed to get a more adult looking head of hair. Here's what the end result was:

So I've decided that Khale needs to take the Summer a little easy and not overwork himself. Apparently the demands of Harvard Law have started taxing on his brilliant mind because he's begun to act a little strange. A few nights ago we were in bed doing our nightly talking, or should I say, my nightly talking and Khales nightly listening (for some reason I become very talkative as soon as my head hits the pillow...he however actually wants to sleep...crazy man). Anyhow, I said something to the effect of "You are a wonderful husband" to which a sleepy Khale responded, "You're wonderful too but she's alot better." Feeling slightly hurt because my husband nolonger thought I was the greatest woman in his life, I was quiet for a moment when he suddenly said..."wait! did you say something? B/c I think I just totally told the sheets that they were wonderful."   Yes, apparently my husband talks to bed linens now. Also, the other day I asked him to hand me Lil's blanket and I was promptly given my cell phone with a "Here it is!" I think that when you can nolonger tell the difference between the sheets or your wife talking and think that cell phones are soft, fuzzy, blankets, that you need a break from studying.

We went candlepin bowling this weekend with a group from the Harvard Law Couples Association. It was really fun! I highly suggest that you all visit New England sometime (preferably while we're still up here) and go candlepin bowling.

    candlepin bowling

The pins are much smaller and skinnier and the balls are close the size of a large softball. Turns out that I can actually play a pretty decent game of candlepin, normal tenpin is an entirely different story though. I won the first game and came in second on the next two. It was kind of cute because one of the couples we bowled with ended up getting either the same score or within one point of eachother every game.

I love you all and would love you even more if you followed suit and updated your Xangas. Reading them is one of my favorite things and I'm so darn cute when I'm happy. :)
