Well, I finally got nasty and threatened to fire my Xanga manager... Yes, that's right. I sent my son an e-mail and told him if he did not upload my 2 new quilt pictures that I was going to fire him from his very high paying, highly prestigious job. So, guess what? He posted them! He knew he'd lose a good thing if he got fired!! You know, it would probably be easier for him to sit down one afternoon and teach me how to upload pictures, but he has all the cables, etc. Plus, he takes that little chip thing out of my camera and pops it into his laptop without a cable and then does the rest whenever it so strikes him.... At any rate, since I haven't been on here in a few days, I did get a baby quilt finished that I started several months ago. The baby was born in May, a beautiful baby by the way, but I never finished his quilt. So, I gave him the one I made at my quilting class that was already finished and then just finished the first one last week. So here they are:
This is the one that I started and got bored with. It was a very easy pattern, but just boring.... It will be the first quilt I have made to donate to the Crisis Pregnancy Center. When I went to see my pictures that my son had uploaded, he hadn't uploaded the one I did for Nicole, his friend that had the baby in May. Whenever he finds it in the multitude of his pictures, maybe he will load it up for me too.
The second quilt Daniel posted is the one a young friend of mine is working on with me. She comes up here on Wednesday nights and works on it while her father goes to the men's meeting at our church. We hope to get the binding on it next Wednesday. I think she is doing a great job!
So until later, these are a few of my quilts. Hopefully, we'll find the one that has been lost in cyberspace somewhere and I can post it. I thought it turned out really good; it was the one we learned how to use a walking foot on... I sure did enjoy that class! This is a picture of a quilt I made about 2 years ago for my great nephew. All of our family are Georgia fans.... Had to do a little something special for our newest bulldog!

I can't remember what type of border I put on it and this isn't a picture of the whole thing. Evidently I just took one close-up. But anyway... it was a fun quilt. So, until I can get Daniel to find the one I made Nicole, these will have to do.
P.S. Have no idea why my words are in different colors.... maybe I'll have to talk to my manager again!

Those are all just beautiful-you do wonderful work! You have a good eye for colour too-I like the colours you put together-such pretty patternsÂ
I know how those xanga managers are...you just have to stay them all the time
You do GREAT work!!! I want a Dallas Cowboy one!
These are beautiful! I love quilts and I have one that was given to me when I first got married. When I do so sick with lupus I started using it all the time. It is now thread warn and coming apart in places, but it is so loved and I cannot stand the thought of having to put it away. I just love everything about quilts. I have some of mine posted under my photos, but I did not make these. There is a pink one in there that my Grandmother made when I was born, it was put away till I became pregnant with my first child. He turned out to be a boy, so it has once again been put into white tissue paper and put into the cedar chest till he is ready to have a child. I think it will be neat for him to have a quilt that his Great Grandmother made and use it on her Great, Great Grandchild!
@k8tthelate - Thanks for the comments. I have really enjoyed my quilting. I have been doing it for probably for 10 years off and on. Wish I had taken pictures over all the years...
@Hecalmsthestorm - Wish I could say I'd make you one, but I am as slow as Christmas! I'd love to do my brother one since he liked the one for his grandson so much, but I haven't done that either....
@firefighterswife - Oh how special! I have only done one wedding quilt. I have another one pieced for when another girl gets engaged, and I have one in the process of making the squares for when she too becomes engaged. That's when I will go crazy. Trying to get them finished in time. My main problem is that I start one, get bored, and want to try out a new pattern.... It's fun though.
Make sure your son knows that the quilt is a very, very special gift. They take LOTS and LOTS of time to make. And, I bet each stitch was made with love! I'll have to check out your photos!
Those are beautiful--You know I like the horse one the best--but I'm partial to the DAWG's one as well. You did a great job. Impressive.
I imagine most have a story about a quilt - I bet one could write a book including nothing but quilt stories. Thanks so much for giving us an opportunity to ooooh, and awwwww over your magnificent gifts of time and love.
My mother gave a quilt to my son when he was a small boy. Now, he is grown with a family of his own, and he gave me this quilt and asked me to please 'fix it' so his daughter could sleep under it. well, it was so old, and so rotten, it was beyond fixing. I took it everywhere hoping someone would be able to bring it back to life, and then someone gave me an idea. I enclosed it in a bag of see-through material ( don't remember exactly what ) with a few stitches here and there, put some loops at the top, and they hung it over her crib on the wall as a display piece - just something to consider if you have an old falling apart quilt with memories!
Take care precious lady...
Thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful 4th also! Yea, Gene has been in rare form the last couple of days!!
Thanks for going by Jonathan's site--appreciate it.
I'm quite worried about how your manager will deal with it if he loses that high-paying prestigious job!
The star quilt was boring? It sure turned out cute! Are the stars pieced or applique? I want to quilt, but can't quite get the courage up to begin the messmaking.
I did a jeans quilt a year or so ago, and have done a few stray blocks here and there since (made into hot pads and such) but I'm sort of scared to begin a big project because I'm so distractible and disorganized that things like that tend to take over the house, not to mention my life!
Thanks so much for subbing! I'm going to sub to you too, ok? I love your quilts!!! I took a quilting class many moons ago and was as good at quilting as I am at figuring out the computer. Not very. Your son is your Xanga manager? That's funny. My girls are mine. But I have new pictures to upload from my digital camera and I hope they will do that for me next week so I can post them. I'm gonna MAKE them teach me how to do it myself so I don't have to wait on them!
Love the quilts. They are beautiful. I thought I sent you a message about getting home, but I can't find it.
It's nice to be back.
