Vacation Post #1
Vacation started on Friday morning at 6:15am as all the kids were packed and waiting to go in the van. We knew we needed to drive 4 hours and we wanted to take our time and make some stops along the way. The first stops were at Wal-mart and then to Bob Evans for breakfast....their spinach, tomato, bacon eggs benedict is fabulous! I felt really good that day the whole time we were traveling. We stopped in Lancaster Pa to prepay our cabin for Sunday and Monday night and to let the kids stretch their legs.
We also stopped in Lititz at the Pizza Hut for some lunch. Then drove on to Camp Swatara and checked into our little rustic cabin for Friday and Saturday nights. The kids were thrill to find that there was a small stream running behind our cabin that they could play in.
Friday night a sitter came to the cabin to keep the 3 older kids while Oscar, Marten and I went to my cousin's wedding....they explored all the creeks in the camp ground and were exhausted by the time we returned.
The men of the family bringing firewood for our camp fire.
Antony doing a "puppet" show with his rubber chicken
Marten loved playing in the woods and stream
and with Antony's train
The kids caught some guppies and snails and a crayfish.
Even poppi got in on the fun of having a stream to play in
Antony having some quiet time with his lego kit.
Inside the cabin was a table and two chairs and lofts where the mattresses were for sleeping.
Saturday morning breakfast was bacon, eggs, pancakes, juice and coffee.
After breakfast we played mini golf at the campground...it was unbelievably hot!!!
The kids found some shade between taking their turns.
After lunch, Marten and mommy took a 3 hour nap and poppi and the others went swimming in the pool with several slides.
More vacation posts will follow tomorrow.......stay tuned!

Young Business Minds at Work
Our kids planted flowers earlier this spring so they could sell them on Grandpa's produce stand and make a bit of spending money....now they are ready to put out there to be purchased. However, instead of spending their money, the kids decided to put it into a fund for next year's vacation time.
So any of you local folks who want to support the "small" business persons....feel free to stop by my parents produce stand and purchase a small clump of zinnas for a quarter....

Pregnancy Fog?
Is there such a thing....I feel like there is.....constantly tired and weak....feeling easily over-whelmed with everyday situations.....like housework, whining kids, and just making meals. It is 10 am and I just now was able to eat breakfast and it has managed to stay down for about 10 minutes...still not sure if it will stay there or not...but hopefully it will. I am not quite 8 weeks yet and already completely fed up with this stage of things....I need to pay bills and finish unpacking today and just can't seem to get my mind around either task. I don't know why it seems so much worse this time around....is it my age....the fact that I already have 4 young kids or is it really, honestly and truely worse. Horomonal imbalances seem to rule my life right now and I hate it. I cry for no reason and for everything that comes along...happy or sad or frustrating or normal.....I just cry....then I have a headache....and more nausea.....when will it end this time? With the last pregnacy it last through the 7th month....I am earnestly praying that it won't do that again this time.

Catch-up Post # 2
A few weeks ago, the kids attended an Ag Safty Day at a local farm....they had sessions about lawn equipment safty, fire safty, a tour of the farm and learned about cleaning, sorting and grading eggs. Each child was able to take home a dozen eggs that they had put into a carton.....that was 3 dozen free eggs for us.....YEAH!!!
Of course, chickens are always a favorite with them
They also had a session on bicycle safty and recieved new helmets.
After lunch they met the Shorebird's mascot and had I.D. cards made for them by the State Police.
It was a fun day, even though it was almost unbearably hot!
Recently, Anita made the move from tricycle to bicycle with training wheels....she has been so proud of her new-found ability....even though it is still slow going for her.
Marten loves this big wheel, but doesn't use the petals...he just goes full-steam-ahead Flintstone style.
The only picture I took during our July 4th picnic was this one of Anita on the way home from Aunt Weba's house.
Then the next day we all went to see the fireworks display where my BIL works...it was nice and it didn't take an hour to leave afterwards.
Marci, Lizzie, Craig and Oscar
Kathleen and Kavoga
Grandma, Michelle and Marten
Antony still doesn't like the noise from them and needed mommy to help hold his ears shut. I didn't manage to get post worthy shots of everyone, but Anita, Aunt Bethany, Stephanie, Emily, Jeni, Colby, Ryan, Grandpa, Nay-Nay (our Fresh Air girl from when we were growing up) and her husband Chris were also along with us.
I did get a few picts from horse camp...but didn't realize my camera was set wrong when I took Marci's pictures...this was the best one.
Antony and Marci both loved riding this sweet little pony named Cindy
Anita got a chance to meet the horses and give them treats
Emily teaching her how to feed a treat to Cindy
Well, I think that is it for catch up posting.....now the next post will start our actual vacation photos!
