• 1st Day of School

  Yesterday turned, unexpectedly, into a school day, without the kids even realizing it......I like those kind of days!!   The well drillers showed up and drilled a new well for our house.....yeah!! we should be seeing the end to all our water issues as soon as it is hooked up next week.  Anyway, we all walked to our back yard and watched and learned about drilling for water....the driller was thrilled to answer some of the kids questions and they were thrilled to watch all the equipment at work fairly close.  Then we came in and found a site online that explained well drilling a bit and the conservation of water in a way that kids could easily grasp.....So the first day of school was a back yard field trip!!  1 down.....only 179 left to go!

  Today is a trip to the bay.....we are going to an area that has no waves and isn't really considered nice beach....but the water is only knee to waist deep for the kids and they can wade way out without it getting deeper....we need to wear old shoes, and are taking intertubes along to spend a lazy morning just floating and splashing in the water......depending on the wildlife and such that we find along the way...it could turn into field trip #2.  Well, I need to start making sandwiches and getting everyone ready for the day.
