Well, I'm still running around like that proverbial headless chicken. However, I wanted to share this piece that I received a couple of weeks ago, and today seems like a good day.... As well as being a post that only takes 90 seconds to complete!
I found some real truths jumping out and biting me!

    Now! No more excuses!
God can use you to your full potential.
Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger.
And one more thing...Share this with a friend or two...
In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your
    full potential.

    1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.

    2. Dear God, I have a problem, it's Me.

    3. Growing old is inevitable ... growing UP is optional.

    4. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.

    5. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.

    6. Do the math .. count your blessings.

    7. Faith is the ability to not panic.

    8. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.

    9. If you worry, you didn't pray . If you pray, don't worry.

    10. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday.

    11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

    12. The most important things in your house are the people.

13 When we get tangled up in our problems, be still.
God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.

    14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15 He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

You know, the person who composed this is so lucky all of those people are dead. Can you imagine the slander suits? Holy crap they'd be in court until hell froze over. ...

Sometimes I think those terms and definitions we ascribe to emotions is organized slightly incorrectly. You know? Like why is it that a person who needs to feel sad for a while can't do that? Why doesn't anyone ever tell us that it is okay to be unhappy sometimes. Or that it's alright if you're down for a while, that's normal. I'll be here when you need me either way. After all, true friendship is not reliant upon the amount of glee in another's tone or voice.

Sure, I understand that when things get overwhelmingly negative there is a need for mental health, and I completely think that kind of care is preventative medicine too. Still, sometimes it is as if a person is permitted a specific lot of hours to be depressed and then poof he or she must be perky. And you know us Americans, we have this thing about the pursuit of happiness when we really should be thinking about the definition of happiness. It is one smiling crazy jacked up world out there eh? Well, sometimes!

Good one Scott!  I like the line that says "you aren't the message, you are just the messenger"  So true.   Boo has a good thought on mental health too.  We need to be able to feel. Most of us just don't want to though.  Well, keep running around!

It's so interesting that most people I talk to on here are Christians. Or perhaps most people are just Christians... I dunno. =) But it's usually the case that the nicest people I read on Xanga are.

    Thanks for that!

ryc: don't worry, I'm pretty pink right now...
    So what's up? oh everything...
I have a bunch of papers due next week, then I have exams and I'm starting this great editing/writing/marketing job for this Buddhist guy, but the timing is totally wrong and he wants me to be done with this website (www.brookoflife.com/gamma) by the end of the week and... I'm trying to stay sane.
I got my taxes done, anyway... that's something...

    What's up with you?

You know, this song played over Duke Ellington's "The Feeling of Jazz" sounds pretty good!

ryc: I dunno... NHL is a pretty big thing...
Please stop by that site and tell me what you think, both about the message and the technical stuff, but start on the Purposeful Living Center b/c the Leadership Center was just put up (hehehe now it sounds really boring so you won't go!). Since you're a computer nerd, your comments will be especially useful!

You know, since it is a work-at-home job, there's no reason I can't do it in South America...

I like what Boo said & I've learned that I have times that I will be sad. I will go into a funk & nothing anyone says will make me feel better. Sometimes someone can make me laugh but the blue will stay once the smile goes away. I've also learned it is okay to cry. BUT FEEL GOOD BLOGS ARE GOOD TO READ & I needed one!

I loved this, "Growing old is inevitable ... growing UP is optional." So true & I could name a few but you don't know them so you wouldn't get it!!!!

ryc: You know, I once tried to enter a Vanity Fair writing contest about 'The Pursuit of Happiness" and that is when I started to think of how that phrase is just so shallow and well, very American.

It isn't about being. It is about the search for some unattainable fantasy instead of an appreciation of what is here. Because even if one gets that thing or person, there is still this onus of pursuit and something else has to come. A consumerist ideal.

That being said. I cannot wait for my new computer.

    GNSDILY!

You seem to be getting more spiritual practically by the day, Scott. It's good to see, from my vantage point.
