Dan played his last high school basketball game tonight, ending the season with a great game of 22 points and along with his team, winning the Wacs state title (Wisconsin Association of Christian Schools).  I am so proud of those boys, and I'll really miss watching them play, especially Dan.  I made a shirt to wear today that said on the back #30 is my brother. :)

Tomorrow is my birthday!

God is sooo good!  SSometimes I wonder where I would be or who I would be like without God, and I can not even begin to imagine.  For those of you wondering, I am finally feeling better.  Today was my last day on the meds.  It's hard to believe it's been two weeks since I've been to the doctor, although I guess in a lot of ways it does feel that long or even longer.  That's how life seems to be.  It feels like this year is flying by.  On the other hand, I feel like it's been about 10 years since I've been in college, so that makes it feel longer too.  Life is a strange thing.  It doesn't stop for anyone or anything, as is often said.  God has taught me so much already this past year, and I am so excited to keep following him on this journey of life, and I know he has some wonderful things in store. :)

Hey there everyone!  I know I don't write in here as often as I used to, but that's the way life goes.  For those of you that didn't know, I"ve been sick off and on for about a month now. Yes, tell me about it.. Anyways, it's been like a horrible cold that just won't leave with all the symptoms.  It would leave and then come back a day later.  I probably would have gone to the doctor weeks ago, but I don't have insurance right now.  Anyways, this week we started school again on Wed. and Wed. my symptoms began returning again after being gone for a day or two... well not really gone, but you probably understand what I mean.  The added bonus this week was that Wed. morning I woke up with a horrendous headache.  It thankfully went away during the school day but returned later in the evening.  I still have that headache now two days later.  Yep - I bet you can imagine.  So, this morning I woke up, and it was really bad. It hurt to move my eyes or my head.  I knew I couldn't teach in that condition, so I called a bunch of people to let them know I couldn't come in.  The hardest thing about teaching at the school I do is it's very hard to get a hold of people in the morning, and there is no sub list.  Thankfully, we have an aid type person that helps all of us out in the elementary side of the building, and she subbed my class for the whole day.  She's an angel.  I'll get back to that later.  So I slept most of the morning.  I called the doctor to see how much it might cost to come in, and they could not even give me a price range.  ridiculous.  One of our malls here has a clinic in it that you just pay $39, and if it's a condition they treat, they prescribe the meds and everything.  Well they treat colds, flus, sinus infections, strep, and all the things that could be what I was feeling.  I had a feeling it was a sinus infection, but I really had no idea.  I called to see if I should come in, and they said it sounded like they could help me.  My mom took me this afternoon, and to make a long story short, I have a really bad sinus infection, hence the horrendous sinus headaches.  The headaches seriously feel like someone is trying to push my brain and my eyes right out of my head,.  Yeah... not fun.  I am so glad I went in, and the advanced nurse who was there today was absolutely fantastic.  I have to take the strongest dosage possible of amoxicillin for 14 days. Let's do some war with those headaches!!

Getting back to my class, the principal called me a few hours ago to see how I was doing, which was wonderful.  He told me that someone anonymously offered to pay whatever expenses I incurred today, which is so out of the blue, and he said my class was fantastic.  For those of you that don't know I have a harder class.  They've always been like that, especially with 12 boys and 3 girls.  It just happens.  haha.  I love them though, and I'm doing the best I can, and I love it.  Well anyways, when I asked him how they were today, he said "perfect."  He said Mrs. Mattke (the sub) said they were so good and they got everything finished early.  She told him she was so impressed with me as they are completely different from how they were last year.  You know how that made me feel?  LIke a million bucks!    He told me if I need to to stay home on Monday also.  We'll see what happens by then.  He said he knows me, and he knows I"m really sick.  It was just one of those phone calls that is short but makes you feel really appreciated and like you can take the time you need to take care of yourself because someone believes in you and is there to tell you so.  He gets the caring principal award from a very appreciative teacher.  Oh, and Jean Mattke gets the sub of the year award. :)
