Just got back, and wow.  There are no words to describe how amazing that trip was.  Granted, I did miss everyone, but I still had massive amounts of fun.  I am very glad to be back.  Here's a sort of run down of the stuff I did:

Pennsylvania:  Helped Jess steal her dad's SLK Benz and we went out for a night on the town.  Since her town is kind of small, we made a slight commute to NYC and partied the night away.  We mostly spent our time at this run down, old, disco club where all the hipsters hang out.  It was definately deck.  Got back to the Cunningham estate at 3 in the morning and ended up getting about four hours of sleep.

New York-Round One:  Spent most of my time, this time in NYC, shopping and just looking around.  Not much has changed since the last time I was there.  Ended up going to a day of that emo/hardcore fest.  It was great; got to see From Autumn to Ashes and Poison the Well play.  Mad fun.  Met up with Paul, Dec, and Chris at the festival.  Spent that night at DiAngo's Wine Cellar.  Ended up in the basement of the place drinking expensive wine and, get this, ended up having a canversation about the weather and the state of music today with Conor Oberst.  Got pictures, will post later.

Nova Scotia:  Nothing.  No one is ever there.  And that is what makes it so great.  Spent most of my time in Peggy's Cove, Halifax, and Antigonish.  Got to go to the Highland games in Antigonish and chill with all of the locals.  Very cool.

Martha's Vineyard: Fun.  Lots of shopping and lots of walking.  And lots of skating since the terrain was excellent.

New York-Round Two:  I completely dominated NYC this time.  Spent most of my time skating, shopping, and, as things would work out, ended up playing at an impromptu Open Mic Night thing at a Starbucks in the lower east side.  I had 20 minutes to do what wanted, so I just pulled out four songs which I knew fairly well.  Played "So Impossible" by Dashboard, an acoustic version of "Out of Reach" by Get Up Kids, an acoustic version of "No Lies, Just Love" by Bright Eyes, and "Hands Down" by Dashboard.  I had a notebook with me, so I wrote out all of the cords and keys for those songs which needed piano and got this nice Swedish fellow to play them for me.  Thanks Serge.  By the end of my session, I got a semi-ovation type thing.  Made three people cry (they said my versions were "moving" and "inspirational").  Granted two were very emo, the third however, was very hardcore.  She was too core for me.  Haha; thanks Veronica.  I have to say that playing those songs was the highlight of my vacation.  Not because it was fun, but because it moved me emotionally too, for a reason I don't know.  Near the end of "Hands Down", I just kind of closed my eyes and kept singing.  And then the singing grew louder, and louder, until I was shouting and crying at the end.  I'm not exactly sure why I was crying, but I must have been moved by something.  And the whole time through the song, all I could think about was one person...  And this strange moment of shouting, and singing, and emotion, and crying, I knew that for that instant, I had become a combination of Conor Oberst and Chris Carrabara.  It rocked my socks right off.  Afterwards, I talked to those crying and just chilled out in a corner, talking to them and Serge.  Emotions...

And now, my journey is over and I have returned home.  I have to go for an interview at the hospital tomorrow at 10:45 to meet with some people about volunteer stuff.  May have to get a TB test...blah.  Well, I am going to go finish my frappucino, write a few overdue emails, and call it a night.  More Later, Much Love...

ok i think i'm in love. Conor is amazing and any guy that would become emotional over singing Carabba or even have enough guts to sing Carabba in public is amazing. Sigh. You're neat. I'm glad you had such a great time.

THE WORD IS LOVE. THE WORD IS LOSS. THE WORDS ARE DAMAGED GOODS. THAT'S WHAT I AM. A LIFETIME GETS CHALKED UP TO AN EXPERIENCE. COINCIDENCE. WE'RE CHAINED TO THE EVENTS. THAT'S IT.

My sixth favorite band. E-mail me. Please? I'm lonely.
