March 16th 2005 7.30 pm at Swinnerton Tower.
Marcus, who's Yeebai's floormate, suddenly knocked on Yeebai's room door. Without much delay, Yeebai quickly opened up the door to check who was it. To his surprised, it was Marcus, the Singaporean guy who lives opposite his room.
Marcus was quick and he jumped straight to the point. He asked, "Hey yee wei, tonight there's something on at Velour Bar. Wanna join tonight? Come and meet the 'mei mei' there lah. It'll be fun. Anyway, if you buy 4 tickets, you'll get one ticket free. So ask your friends to come along, ok?"
Yeebai: " Er... I'll see how lah."
Marcus: "Oh ya, it starts around 10pm. So maybe you guys can go a little bit later."
Yeebai: "Alrite, that,s cool.I'll give a call to my friends later."
Yeebai then made phone calls to Howie, Gary, and Dennis.
Yeebai: " Hey guys, wanna go and have a drink tonight at Velour Bar? It's organized by MSA RmiT. Heard it's a sort of asian night for Uni students."
Howie: " I'll see how lah."
Gary: " Nah... it's okay. You guys go ahead lah. "
Dennis: " I'll call you back later."
9.00 pm at Swinnerton Tower
Yeebai got replies from the guys.
Howie, Gary, and Dennis: " Yee wei, sorry 'coz I don't think I feel like going tonight."
After each of them called up Yeebai, he then confirmed with Marcus that they were not going to Velour Bar.
9.15 pm at Swinnerton Tower
Yeebai knocked on Marcus's room door and told him their decision.
Yeebai: " Sorry Marcus, don't think me and my friends are going later."
Marcus: " It's alright. Maybe you can join again some other times." Marcus smiled and gave a light pat on Yeebai's shoulder.
Yeebai then continued playing his NBA computer game in his room. Although Yeebai has told Marcus that they were not going, his mind kept thinking of Velour Bar and wanted to go so badly.
9.45 pm Swinnerton Tower
He gave it a second thought, and has finally made another phone calls to 3 of them. This time, Howie and Dennis were tempted to go, but not Gary. Without much hesitation, Yeebai has decided to go and check out that place (Velour Bar) with Howie and Dennis.
10.30 pm Velour Bar entrance
Yeebai, Howie, and Dennis then entered into Velour Bar. The atmosphere was still quiet as the night was still young. Since there were not so many people there at that time, they just hang around and checked out the top and lower floor of the bar. Due to the loud music that was playing on the top floor, they had decided to go downstairs and have a quiet moment there.
10.45 pm Velour Bar lower floor
Yeebai spotted two girls were walking down the staircase, passing through the 3 of them, and was on their way to the ladies washroom. One of the girls was wearing pink sweet top, while the other was wearing full black top.
Howie then gave a signal to Yeebai, " Psshhh...eh yee wei, check out that two chicks over there."
Yeebai was stunned looking at the girl who dressed up in pink top. To him, she's a rather tall girl. The girl had a glimpse of them and headed straight to the ladies washroom.
11.07 pm Velour Bar top floor
At this hour, the bar was already flooded with asian students. So the guys get themselves each an alcoholic drink and sat down to enjoy the night.
11.20 pm Velour Bar top floor
Dennis went to the loo due to nature calls and also to made phone call to his girlfriend back home. At this time around, Yeebai noticed that the pink top girl was sitting just a table next to them. The girl was with her friend. Yeebai has a very special feeling for the girl. He thought she's a quiet yet nice girl, who doesn't look like a clubbing chick. A couple of minutes later, Yeebai then noticed that the girl was sitting alone there waiting for her friend to get a drink for her. After a long wait, the girl's friend has abandoned her and was chatting with her friend at the bar counter. Yeebai wanted to be-friend with the girl but had not got the courage. Instead, he thought of asking Howie to do so.
Yeebai then asked Howie, " Yo... let's go be-friend with the girl."
Howie then replied, " Don't want lah! My heart is with Aishah and I'm loyal to her."
Yeebai: " .............."
Yeebai was a little disappointed and was in dilemma whether he should approach the girl. After some drinks, Yeebai finally braved himself to approached the girl alone.
11.35 pm Velour Bar top floor
Yeebai approaching the girl in pink top.
Yeebai: " Hello. I'm Yee Wei. Can I chat with you?"
Without giving much thought, the girl then kindly replied, " OK. I'm Emmaline. Nice to meet you."
Yeebai and Emmaline then shook each other's hand and exchanged look.
