Ender's Game

Currently Reading
Ender's Game (Ender, Book 1)
By Orson Scott Card
see related

No one is fessing up.  I know it was someone on here that recommended the book to me.  And it seems like several people agreed.  Sooooooooo, who has read Ender's Game?  I believe it is fighting with The Stand and Boy's Life for my favorite book of all time.  I know there are several books in the series but I need to know what order to read them in.  Are the other books as good as the first??

READ THIS BOOK!!

That may have been me.  If not, I was sure one of the people agreeing with the suggestion.

The next books in the series are:

Speaker for the Dead

Xenocide

Children of the Mind

These books are rather "slow" reads and require some patience to get through, but it's all wrapped up beautifully in the last book, making it well worth the effort.

Then comes the Shadow series which is about what happens back on Earth to Peter, Bean and Petra after Ender leaves.  I  enjoyed these even more.

Ender's Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon

Shadow Puppets

Shadow of the Giant

I've read it, but I don't think I was the one who recommended it. I've only read Speaker for the Dead on the sequels.

I have never read it, so it couldn't have been me.  I do like Card though.  I read his Women of Genesis series.  I will have to check out Ender's.

I HAVE read your women piece for JFP but am headed out of town so can't give a proper critique.  I wrote my piece, but I have not typed it.  I ended up writing about Leila's wedding.

Fantastic book!  I'm reading Ender's Shadow now (book 5, skipped 2 thru 4).  It's a parralel tale from Bean's POV.  It's fantastic so far.  I can hardly wait to read the entire series!

I might have mentioned it, I don't recall.  But, I have ThePensivePoet to thank for introducing me to Ender...

Writing that on a picture and sending it to me sounds like something MY Mom would do...she has a little "evil" streak in her!  LOL

you've most likely figured it out by now, but since I don't know anything at all about the book you are reading, I clicked the link. If you do that and scroll down the amazon posting for the book, it will show yu the order of the books in the series.

It could have been me who recommended it. I haven't read the other ones, but I've heard that they're pretty good. Ender's Shadow is the next best one, and the others are of lesser quality, but they're all good reads. Of course, I'm getting that secondhand... :)

Never actually read the book but I listened to the unabridged version on CD on a road trip with my kid a couple of years ago. I loved it but I think I would have been tempted to skim some of the battle scenes if I'd been reading it, and then I wouldn't have gotten the full story. I did get a kick out of how Card's mormon beliefs color the plot.

I keep meaning to read the sequels, but I'm just not a huge fan of science fiction. Maybe I need have the library set aside the second one for me.
