My daughter doesn't think Marty McFly is cute and hates the jean jacket.  It doesn't help matters that she finds absolutely no humor in Valley Girl talk, of which my fellow 31 year old friend and I spent most of the afternoon speaking as she rolled her eyes.  According to her, Madonna is an author, not a singer.  She obviously has not seen the pictures of her mother channeling Madonna in the 6th grade.    Sigh...I'm old.

Look how young Liza Minelli looks in the tv.

And since when did it become the in thing for Mexican restaurants to have two guys with guitars and the whitest white girl on the planet (with a portable karaoke machine) entertaining guests with songs like You're So Vain and Hotel California?  I'll take Oye Como Va over that anyday.  Even my 4 year old declined a personal performance.

Must remember to take my blog link out of emails I send to classmates informing them of upcoming 15th reunion.  Did I mention I'm old?  Now they realize I haven't changed ANY and may possibly be worse.

In other news, my 10 year old decided on Friday (during school) that his glasses did not fit properly.  After which he threw them in the trashcan,  informing me of this one hour ago.

Am much more upbeat and realize I do not suck.

Happy Saturday!

Like, Omigod! I totally can't believe your daughter is harshing Madonna's gig. That's so bogus. I mean like, gag me with a Ginsu.

And that singing girl, like, probably doesn't even know Spanish.

Change is overrated. Keep in mind the immortal words of Garth Algar in Wayne's World when he was asked how he and Wayne would feel about making a change:

"We fear change."

Hey, I STAYED in a Hotel California while in Mexico City. I kid you not! So you see, very authentic.

If I had a ten-year-old with those kind of decision-making skills...he would be soooo dead.

And to be honest, I didn't dig Michael J. until Spin City.

You rock (which is a long way from sucking)!  Class of '92, yes?!  Me too.  Or you COULD be '93, depending on whether or not you turn 32 this summer. :)

The glasses story hearkens back to another piece of 80's memorabilia (sp?).  Remember when Mary Ingalls hid her glasses and said they were broken, b/c she didn't want to be a "four eyes" anymore. . .Yeah, that was good stuff, man.

LOVE the picture!

Try working with high schoolers.  I'm only 27 and I'm officially old.  Actually, I won't be 27 for 19 more days.  And I'm old.

Bwa hah hah. These kids these days. They just don't appreciate good 80's humor. Not that I find anything funny about the 80's. Quite the contrary, really...

Ah, I am old too. I am lucky that my almost 12 year old still thinks I am pretty cool. Maybe it's cause my nose is pierced, lol. Maybe it's cause I blend in so well with the other 5th graders. I am shorter then some of them. Who knows, but I betcha that very soon, I won't be so cool.

And I know that it's not funny, but you manage to once again say it in a funny way. I can almost hear you saying it... At least she told you she threw them away. Right?

I loved the 80's and Madonna,  i've had a hard time accepting that I'm in my 30's and have now been out of HS for 15 years. You're great Tiff!

Please. You are not old. My 25th reunion is this year. Now that's old. SO weird. Because I don't feel over 40. Until I look in the mirror.

Of course you don't suck. If it makes you feel better, I was a senior in high school when Madonna hit the scene.

How can anyone think Marty McFly isn't cute!!!???  Sheesh!

I look around and feeling older and older.  I listen to the police scanner and hear a drivers license get called in, and the DOB is 1990.  THAT makes me feel OLD!!!!

Wait--Madonna's an AUTHOR?! But seriously, think about it--when we were young, we thought people talking about stuff from the 50's was lame. What do you mean you didn't have color TV? What about if you wanted to tape a TV show? The Simpsons weren't on then?

I suppose it's one of those generational things--I ran into a young woman who'd never played an LP. That took the longest time to understand...you're 18 and have never played a record? When I was 18...then I realised that they were still selling records (although fewer) in record stores by 1993.

Wow. I'm woefully out of date.
