Funny, I barely remember that now. Of course, I only had one to miss, and I was working at the time which tends to eat the hours of the day. Far, far worse was the time we ahd to leave her at college! On the other hand, there were days when I would turn on the TV in every room so as to hear a voice during the day.

You have really captured the moment, and then made me laugh with your description of the cat!

I think that is one of your great strengths. You don't just tell us of your journey; you take us with you!

A Confederacy of Dunces, one of my favorite books of all time! But maybe that's because I can so identify with Ignatius...

Confederacy of Dunces is a great book, you just have to keep plowing and it will get funnier as you go!!

I want to read Ella Minnow Pea now. And I'm not a mommy, but I drink. So I'd probably like that other book anyway!

I didn't think I'd ever have silence again after marrying a man with five kids. But the craziest thing has happened over the last two or three weeks: all the kids have had better things to do than sit home with us. We've had two or three nights in the past two weeks where ALL the kids were gone. Weird.
