| Happy New Year!
新年快樂! 恭喜發財 利是到來 豆零唔愛 十呅袋落袋 (or when my brother says it with an american accent “十萬袋落袋”).
I hope the "mun" was spelled correctly, my mom doesnt know what the canto character is.
Anyways, i'm still haven't finished my thing on Fr. Cheng. Don't know if I should even post it. But I'll let you know that it is like a family member passed away. Someone like a grandfather figure. At the Friday wake/vigil, I ended up crying almost bawling. It felt good to let it out. I don't even know why it came out but it did. Throughout the afternoon we had the rosary and it wasn't until the vigil at night when a lot of people were there that I started bawling. I guess it might have been because there was a lot of emotion that night. I think the last time I cried like that was at my grandma's funeral vigil when I was 17. At my grandma's vigil, my aunt gave me a hug and said it was ok to let it out...and it immediately came out while hugging her. Throughout the vigil day and before, various people asked me if I would be ok. I said, "I should be okay, but I'll probably cry". When it was time for the final viewing, it was like something in me swelled up and it just came out.
Anyways, I just had to write about it because I think it's good for us to let our emotions out once in a while.
Please pray for my friend Pat's father who has blood cancer. Pray for God's will be done and for the family to come closer during this time and God willing, a complete recovery. Pray for the strength for them all to go through this tough time.

| hello world.
Fr. Joseph Cheng, SDB passed away on Saturday, February 10 at 3:25pm. He was the pastor at St. Bridget Chinese Catholic Center from 1993-2006.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
I'll prolly be posting about him in the near future. There was a document that I wrote right after Christmas last year but never found the time to complete it.
Below is the email details from the Parish Council President.

| hello world.
I'm announcing that I'll be out of town for a meeting. This is a first for my job at Chevron. My previous business trip was to Memphis, TN when I worked for my uncle. I think I liked the Memphis trip better.
I'll be in San Ramon starting Tuesday morning, February 6th to Tuesday afternoon, February 6th. Sorry I can't stick around. I didn't book my ticket, my boss did. I'm meeting a co-worker at chevron @ 4am for a 6am flight. Then a 5:30pm flight back down.
It's gonna be a long day.

| hello world.
好久不見.
Prayer request. My granduncle Douglas, my granduncle Morton's younger brother, found out he has cancer. Not sure what kind of cancer he has, but his biopsy showed he had cancer. He's gonna have surgery sometime soon.
I'm sure my grandaunt is taking it hard. Granduncle is probably taking it hard since he has his pride like a chinese father does. This added to the fact that he is a radiation oncologist that worked at Loma Linda Hospital, now currently in Las Vegas. He's probably thinking to himself that he should have somehow predicted it or could have prevented it. In either case, I pray that God's will be done and that many blessings may come out of this suffering.
On the topic of cancer, Father Cheng seems to be doing better in terms of energy and spirit. I think this is due to the change of medication. I don't know the details but the side-effects of the stuff he had before were strong. His cancer is still spread about. Thank you for your continued prayers.
I've been meaning to write about my experiences with Fr. Cheng and him living at the same building as us. These vary from how my family has adapted to this and how I've grown a lil bit (maybe).
I've saved some of my thoughts on a word document and should continue.
Sorry if my updates aren't as frequent. Work has been very busy and more and more challenging. I've cut down on swing dancing, but still take classes on Monday.
