  What's the most romantic gift you've ever received?

  
  

  My answer...it's very hard for me to decide the "most romantic" thing I've ever gotten.  This might have a lot to do with my charmed life.  Being an actress and usually a leading lady, the on stage world if full of "romance".  It's grand and sweeping, usually accompanied by songs and chorus and dancing.  I would assume that most people would never get to be wooed by a song, literally swept off their feet, wearing beautiful dresses, corsets, and riding off into the sunset (or lights that resemble a sunset). 
  

  Thus, the "real" romance of my life is most often much calmer and simpler, as it should be.  I long ago realized that extravagance and drama were only meant for the stage, and that real romance must be of a quieter, sweeter kind.  The kind that is friendship.  The kind where you can spend hours just sitting together quietly, reading seperate books, enjoying a home cooked dinner, watching a movie, holding hands, cleaning the kitchen, doing whatever.  I've tried the "dramatic" relationships before.  They never work out, and usually end just as dramatically as they start.  I am very happy with my current relationship.  It's not dramatic, but comforting.  It's not loud, but peaceful.  It's not perfect, but it's real.
  

  And now I'll show you a picture.  This is what Andrew got me for Valentine's day this year. 
  

  

  It's a bear dressed exactly like his uniform...even down to the name and MOS.  It's not really that the gift itself is romantic (which it is)...but the thought behind it.  Andrew is a great boyfriend.  It's a great gift.  He gave it to me so that I could have a mini soldier to hug when he's not there.  We all know that often, soldiers aren't there for the ones they love.  So I have a bear to hold. 
  
  This is just a small example of the kind of guy he is.  He's is patient, kind, slow to anger, quick to forgive.  He is romantic in the very realest sense of the word.  His realer gifts to me are not material, but in his constant support and affirmation of who I am.  I am a human, weak and sinful...very often prideful about being wrong.  His "romance" to me is the act of loving.  It is kindness when undeserved.  It is an embrace when I've said something mean.  It is patience and understanding.  Those are gifts one could never purchase.
