| | I haven't done that much research, but I have a small list of colleges I might apply for. Honestly, I am hell-bent on continuing Japanese. I did not suffer for 4 years to just FORGET the language. That's why I'm pretty much counting out colleges with no Japanese provided, because that's just...a waste. I'm really into researching colleges now, so maybe some people can help me out. Someone told me I'm thinking too early, but I think I started too late. I didn't create a real identity until recently, so it's only now that I have an idea of what I want to do in the future. GO MEDICINE! DRUGS!
• University of Los Angeles - Medicine + Minor in Asian Languages (Japanese) = YES. - Did I mention someone is luring me there with their PS2? *guilty* - Isn't Tony going there? Faithie said "Creepy" at that thought. =] • University of California Berkeley - No no no, where is my Japanese minor? D< - Hey, whoa! Japanese was under East Asian Studies! I should have known they would hide it in the list of minors. Well, I need more motivation to go to Cal. Any bribes? • St. Mary's College - No Japanese AND their medicine program isn't...strong. I just liked the campus & proximity. • New York University - I'm pretty sure they have Japanese, but I have to look into it more. • De La Salle University (Philippines) - Yes, international! But if I want to take Japanese, I might need to double-major. - The second best thing about this college is that my cousin went there. I think my mom went there too, not sure. • University of the Philippines - I'm not sure which specific area to go to, and I have to somehow take a test to enter, but I know for sure that I shall avoid UP Diliman, my dad went there.EVIL DAD.That's all I researched so far....
I feel bad because I was so excited about Cal, but I was crushed when I realized I couldn't minor in Japanese. My dreams, crushed!
I'm not really bent on going international because the entrance tests sound troublesome, but I might try out for one in England. I doubt I'll go so it might not be worth the trouble. On the other hand, going to school in PI is a good excuse to see my mom's side of the family for the first time.
I wish I could take this class (and I probably could, if I take my De La Salle choice seriously): Japanese Pop Culture The course looks into the production of cultural icons and their effects on Japan behavior. The forms include manga, pop music, games and various entertainments.
I can't believe I made an entry about college. I guess I just wanted to write it down somehow.
