Lazy Sundays

Rarely do I get the chance to sleep in, but now that my family is allowing me to go to church on my own, I'm staying up playing games. I really couldn't go back to sleep when I was forced to get out of bed at 6:30 though, oh well. I feel guilty for not doing homework.
Tomorrow I've got a project due, but my partner has gone MIA.
Now that's it's nearly time to go to church, I don't know what to do.
I'm really hungry. I should eat breakfast instead of just thinking about it.
I'll write more later.

Later:
I got really lazy and attended a later mass, even though it would have been easier to just walk up the hill to the early mass. That's how lazy I've gotten.
I dressed lightly, expecting the weather to still be reasonably warm. Instead, after getting 10 blocks away from my house, I was hit with the fog and my flip-flop clad feet didn't stand a chance. It was a bit embarassing to be the only person in church who was alone and dressed for yesterday's weather.

Another failed attempt to not sleep during mass, but I'm still getting used to not having anyone else accompany me to wake me up and talk to me. It gave me more time to think, and rekindled my desire to be more involved in my religion. Maybe in the future I'll do something about that.

On the way back from church, I decided to skip riding the bus and walk all 10 blocks back from the church.
Years ago I used to walk from church to the bus stop to get to work; I would do it every summer, without fail, starting at 8:50 am. Doing it again reminded me of how much I miss it - walking under the shade of the trees, watching the birds who squeak when they fly away, filling myself with the thrum of tires on the freeway and a distant plane soaring above.

Since I walked around, I can't really call this Sunday a lazy one. But that's okay, I make up for it by taking too much time to write this entry instead of finishing my homework.

Even Later:
My prom date came by and dropped off his forms.
Too bad he couldnt stay, he owed me a million hugs.
He reminded me why I'm happier going with him rather than the guy I actually like.
I'm more comfortable around him; if I'm going to spend 200 bucks for a single night, it'd better be fun for sure.
Back to work I go.
