Dear Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop,
Pretend that above you see a photo of Ezra looking very cute in the sweet navy pants and bright turquoise t-shirt with a surfboard on it. Pretend that Ezra is smiling at you and I am saying thank you a month late for his birthday gift. Pretend you can hear the little swish-swish noises he makes when he walks around in them. While you do that, and sincerely feel my thanks, I am going to pretend that my favorite camera is not full of sand waiting to get cleaned, and that I didn't drop my other camera in the river when we were camping this past weekend. It's slowly coming back, but it's acting weird too. Thank you so much for thinking of him, and us. We really appreciate it. Enjoy some Jersey corn and tomatoes for us, okay? Thanks, Love you very much, Meggan

| Ok! Ok! I'll blog.
I'm getting it from every side. I'm sorry. Yes, I feel very busy. Having the computer downstairs [when our living area is upstairs] is making my computer time very limited. I think I'll try to get to blogging at night. But we've been staying up way too late making jam. I made habanero fireweed jelly and organic peach jam last night after the church meeting here. [PS-Habaneros smell delicious.] The night before we made our third batch of raspberry jam. It's been a busy kind of week. We're going camping this weekend, and I haven't made a single list, even though I have a wonderful new listing pen. [thank you Mary Lynn] It's not as juicy as the ultra fine time permanent sharpie, but it doesn't bleed through my calendar! We had a potluck here on Sunday, then bookclub way up the hillside Sunday evening, then a raspberry jam night, a meeting here last night, then a school meeting tonight. We haven't been to the fair, and I'm not sure we're going to make it. Sad. And our backup camera is so slow at uploading photos. So, I don't think I can catch anyone up too much. The kids are doing well at school, when they are there. Selah is back on track, but Noah has pneumonia. He only missed one day this week though. He isn't hacking and choking quite as bad now that the antibiotics kicked in. Jonas starts preschool on Tuesday. He's very very excited, and wants everyone to see his school when we drive by. Eric and the kids went on a fly fishing float trip with Grandpa Dale on Saturday and Eric caught a 26 inch rainbow. He still dreams about it at night. It was a life changing experience I think. [We no longer sleep in the living room, which is nice. It's much cooler downstairs, and I like that.] For the fishing trip on Saturday, the kids had to get up at 4:45 am. They had a great time. The guide, Gavin, is the movement teacher at the school, which is a fancy waldorfy way of saying gym class, because they don't have eurythmy.
The monster rainbow A pretty big Dolly Varden. [to hear Noah, it's a Dolly Varten] The were pretty knocked out, within minutes of getting in the car. They didn't get home until almost 11 pm. I'm making no promises, but I will try to blog more. | | |
| I should be packing lunches, but I was down here switching the laundry. Laundry is fun! [Yeah, uh, how long is that gonna last?!] Today will be Noah's first day of school. Woo Hoo! And it's Friday. How wonderful.
Noah and Selah, Eric, and Dale are going on a fly fishing trip tomorrow on the Kenai. The boat only holds 5, including the guide-actually 4, but I think the kids count as one. I keep thinking it will be weird to be with just the two little guys all day, but isn't that what life usually is?
Today begins the .83 cent super clearance sale at REI, where all the stuff that ends with .83 is half off. I will be getting in line after I take the kids to school, and hopefully buying some tops and shoes for the two older kids, plus rain pants for Selah and a winter coat for Noah. And a coat for Noah. I hope it all works out. There's a really cute timbuk2 bag for 30 something [down from 100] and I want it, but the very last thing I need is another bag...right? Right? Anyone? Bueller?
I really should go. Lunches are awaitin'.
PS- This book-it's totally freaking me out. I think we might move to Canada. Or New Zealand.
