I have given up on ever having a "clean" house. In the past I would have made you stay outside. Now I am getting better at embracing my messier side, and trying to be hospitable no matter what. However, I would prefer to have 24 hours notice before you come over. I do have four children after all.
In spite of my messy status, I like to have at least one clean area in my house. This week it's the refrigerator. If you were to come over, I would probably make a point to let you see inside it, somehow. In the past it's been the hall closet. Occasionally just the toilet. My favorite is the laundry area. It makes the whole house look mysteriously clean.

And no matter how "natural" I am, I love bleach.
I love the smell, the action, the delicious bleachiness of it all.
Perhaps our next child will be named Dioxin.
Quirk No. 2
I love peanut butter and jelly.
What I lack in nature from my dad, I make up in nurture.
I like pbandj for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Preferably on smooshy bread. Whole grain, but full of dough conditioners. My number one choice is Vita-Bee.
Quirk No. 3
My knives.
Oh how I love thee.
I bring them with me wherever I may cook.
Vacation, or camping, or potlucks as well.
You make my prep and cooking life swell.
Oh how I love thee.
Quirk No. 4
Again. I may be a crunchy sort of person, but I love Coke.
[This picture is from my living room.]I abhor Pepsi and [most] Pepsi products.
I went through a dentist induced Diet Coke period, but luckily, thats over.
To make it worse, Coke from a McDonald's fountain is the best. Remember, my parents met at McDonald's, so no matter how much I may detest everything they stand for, they will always hold a soft spot from my formative years. Luckily, I'm no longer a
heavy user.
Even still, barring my McDonald's problems, my kids still ate
this for dinner last night.
Quirk No. 5
Ahh...
Fluffy literature.
Young adult fiction-I love it.
Cheesy Historical Christian romance novels-I eat them for breakfast, when I'm not eating pb&j.
The perfect antidote to a stressful day.
Quirk No. 6 I love lists.
I love making lists.
I love hand
writing lists.
I may only do one of the things written on the
list,
but I just get so much pleasure from writing
them.
I prefer using Sharpie ultra fine points, on a thick
paper to reduce bleeding.
I will write and rewrite a list
till it looks just right.
If only I put as much time into
organizing the house as I do organizing my words.
So
what makes you quirky?
