**EDITED TO REMOVE BLACK BACKGROUND (thanks, skanickadee)**
A few things:
What happened with Ashlee Simpson on SNL last night? I got the West Coast feed, of course, and something was surely bizarre--she was on stage looking confused and doing an Irish jig sorta thing, and then they cut to a guitarist, and then showed the stage with just a spotlight (no Ashlee Simpson)--kind of a cool camera shot of just the white circle on the stage. I assume something was edited out, and CNN had video of "Ashlee Simpson walks off SNL" but I couldn't play the video. Someone please fill me in, because it was freakin' weird. The whole thing lasted about a minute or maybe less.
Summer123 asks: What's for dinner tonight and what's the dress?
I'd been planning on taking another shot at macaroni and cheese in the crock pot, but then yesterday Mack and I went to Costco and tried this roast beef they were making in the microwave. It's already cooked and everything and you just heat it up. I didn't expect to like it, because I don't like most microwaved foods, but this was fantastic and it takes about 7 minutes. So this morning when I got up, I tossed some sliced potatoes and carrots, along with some pearl onions, in the crock pot with some beef broth and dry onion soup mix. I don't know how they will turn out, but so far, so good. I'm also making some Country White bread (from Krusteaz mix).
Also at Costco yesterday, I bought Christmas cards, and we've all already signed them and most of them are already addressed. I usually have every intention of sending out Christmas cards, but I probably have actually only done it maybe three out of the last 7 years. I've just been too busy and unorganized.
I'm not sure what's changed, but this is a record for sure--apartment is clean, laundry is caught up, I'm cooking about 5 nights a week now (frozen or leftovers the other nights), and my freakin' Christmas cards are as good as done and it's not even Halloween. AND the Red Sox are not only in the World Series, but they're up
1-02-0.Somewhere, something is definitely not right.
My arms hurt. I dunno why.
I'm watching Ulee's Gold on DVD (from Netflix) right now. It's quite possibly the slowest movie ever made. My friend told me it was good, and I have kind of a crush on Patricia Richardson (well, not kind of), and I really can't watch any more reruns of Home Improvement (not that I've seen that many, but I've definitely seen enough). I don't mind slow-paced stories most of the time, but I don't have time to sit and take in every nuance of this film right now. I'm not in the right frame of mind.
Not much else to report. Mack is on her best behavior because she thinks I'll un-ground her, but that's not gonna happen.

Apparently there was a screwup and a recorded tape of Pieces of Me started playing during her second song, thus exposing the fact that she was lip-synching, and she walked off. They cut to a commercial. I only saw her first performance, and noticed that in the first few seconds, I could hear two Ashlees, which meant she was singing over a pre-recorded song. Ah, "live" performances...gotta love 'em.
I'll have to go read back to see why Mack's grounded..I'm so behind!
Dinner sounds delish. Saaaaaaaaay, sevenish?
You are knocking off tasks one by one -- good for you! I have our XMAS cards in a box - somewhere. So before I can address them, I'll have to find 'em.
Could the arm pain be caused by alllllllllllll of the work you're doing and/or tennis? I'm not a doctor...
I don't watch SNL, but if it's anything like it was just before I stopped watching, I'd say it was all par fot the course.

Give me Conan 5 nights a week
Above link explains what happened on SNL. Weird!
Ahhhhh finally someone that saw SNL last night. But notagoose beat me to it. Yup I was watching it and they cued the wrong song and the band started looking at each other and play. Ashlee looked at her band and shrugged and then started dancing. Then she walked off the stage and the band just started jamming. They cut to commercial but that was it... at the end of the show, Jude there was like "And thank you to Ashlee, well that's live TV - what do you want?"
How about LIVE? LOL Ashlee was like, "Sorry they cued the wrong song for the band and... " errr not embarrissed to lip sync I guess! The first song - music anyways sounded really good and not a play over... but her singing sounded too fake... it was... heh!
i've tried a pork-roast of those microwavable meats and was pleased with it too. for some reason, me and pork don't get along when i try to make it, no way no how.
and at least the Red Sox curse has been lifted. unlike the Cubs. Would have been cool if Cubs and Red Sox were in the series together...
or did she? what do i know, i didn't stay up that late!
I say the Ashlee Simpson clip this morning. The sound booth started the the song she had already performed. It was a guide tape that had the band playing and her singing. So essentially the music wasn't live on Saturday Night LIVE. She hopped around a bit in a most unusual way and then walked off. Some heads are going to roll over that.
Your dinner sounds so good. I've been wanting to start up the crock pot, but jack is afraid that dean will mess with it during the day. I don't think he would.
By the way, this entire e-prop message was lip sync'd. (haha)
Here's a link to the video of the SNL phuckup
