  • All right, so Paula Deen is old news. I had no idea. I don't really watch the Food Network, though. I felt like writing her a fan letter saying, "you had me at 'Queen of Beans.'"

It was a productive weekend. I rewrote the beginning of the screenplay I've been working on. I'm still trying to figure out the formatting, and I've still got some things to work out. The kids had their last basketball games. I also watched a bunch of City Confidential episodes, which I consider productive since I had (and still have) so many saved on the TiVo.

Today was more of the same--more writing, more TV watching, and a lot of cooking. The kitchen is a disaster and I'll have to deal with it tomorrow since I need to run yet another load of dishes.

I'm exhausted, but I can't believe how much I accomplished this weekend. I just wish I had a housekeeper.

    I despise the local news.

Speaking of news, Boston Legal was really good tonight. It's one of the few times I really enjoyed that show.

    I'm going to bed.

Now that you have no more doggie daycare, maybe there's a few bucks for some housekeeping help. I've often thought this would make my life easier too. I don't like routine tasks all that much and housework is the most thankless thing in the world.

One of the funniest things EVER was one of Paula's shows where she was closing the episode. She was walking down the lawn carrying a plate with something she had made that day and said "I'm here with my best friend, my fork ..." I had to think about what she said for a second and FELL OUT laughing. Her best friend is her fork! The way she said it too made it sound like she had just the one! What a hoot! I actually wrote to her [via the Food Network website].

You did all that and all I did was install a garage door.

I changed two light bulbs! Oh, the Boston Legal was good. I had hoped for the other outcome, I would have loved to see someone freeze dry Carl Reiner. The world could use a clone of him every few years.

I was horribly lazy this weekend, and didn't work on my paper that's due tomorrow.... ugh.  Everytime I hear you talking about Tivo, it makes me want to get one!

I didn't know you were working on a screenplay

I don't like local news either. And it seems more and more they are just TAKING over, interrupting the shows we want to see with reports that could easily wait an hour until the news comes on. What ever happened to scrolling across the bottom of the screen??? LOL

I like Paula Dean but if I were to eat the food she cooks, I'd weight about 300.  Man, she puts more fat and staff into any meal I've ever seen.

I've never seen it, but now I'm gonna wish I had time to watch tv. LOL

When I'm writing and I'm having a hard time starting, I find that it helps to read the genre I'm attempting. Find some screen plays and brush up on the style. Good luck!

Boston Legal is one of the best new shows around and I've been a fan of the show since it began... so intelligently written and the cast is just wonderful. Plus is seems to always make me get all teary-eyed at the end.
