I'm not sorry to see 2006 go. Especially the latter months.
I have resolutions, but they're not very interesting.
I had planned to keep track of all the movies I saw and all the books I read in 2006. I failed with the movies, I'm afraid, but I did manage to keep an accurate reading list:
I really, really recommend:
Plainsong The best book I read last year.
The Kite Runner Another really, really good book, totally different from Plainsong and probably unfair to compare.
A Three Dog LifeThe Year of Magical ThinkingThe Glass CastleI recommend (in no particular order):
Catch a Wave: The Rise, Fall and Redemption of the Beach Boys' Brian WilsonCarter Beats the DevilTrue StoryTake the CannoliBoy Still MissingGreen Grass GraceWicked
Eventidegods in AlabamaBetween, GeorgiaWe Thought You Would Be PrettierI recommend with reservations:
Live From New York But only if you really like the show, even with all its ups and downs, like I do.
Three Nights in August By the same author as Friday Night Lights, but definitely not as good
The Laments It was not a page-turner for me, but I liked the odd Lament family.
Neutral:
Possible Side EffectsKate: The Woman Who Was HepburnThe Art of MendingSon of a WitchI do not recommend:
The RuinsS is for Silence W is for Why Have I Read So Many of These Books?

Happy New Year!
Is 2007 done already? I thought it had just begun!
Happy new year and new beginnings. I hope your first resolution is find a new job with a normal boss.
I just got S... I can't help it. I can't resist them. Don't know when I'll read it.
Shoulda known with an S in it, it couldn't be good... LOL
I love Laurie Notaro. I have to be careful where I read her, because she makes me laugh out loud. My daughter reads the books when I'm done with them, and she's been known to read out loud, parts that she's finding particularly amusing, the result being that we both laugh until we cry. People have stared a time or two.
The last I read, Mr S had you make out everyone's bonus checks but didn't have one for you... did he stick to that ? What a dick.
I wish you a fabulous 2007 !!
If you don't see movies or read books, then your list can be really short! Like mine! "A Prairie Home Companion".
Cheers!
How are you? i haven't chatted with you in so long. I had a tennis round robin over the holidays and was pleased with my play. That stupid psychologist was there and he praised my serve. Wonder of wonders.
How is your game? How is it managing your team? I'm still plagued with migraines, so I'm not on the team this year. I can't promise I'll make it for scheduled matches. The doctor has something new he's going to use.
Go to my site tomorrow. Exciting news about my book!
