This is my 24th day of work in a row. I'm very tired and it's beginning to really cut into my productivity in other parts of my life. It looks like we will be wrapping up this project before Friday so maybe I can have a normal weekend. I have some writing to finish. I had wanted to finish it by today.
My dad came in yesterday. I didn't manage to accomplish every little thing I wanted to before he gets here, but I did put fresh batteries in the remote control and stick the refrigerator with Miller Lite and bean dip. Anything else would just be icing on the cake, anyway.
He took us out for dinner and there were no plastic trays or paper hats involved.
I installed a dimmer on my dining room lights a couple of nights ago. It was really, really easy but I was still pretty impressed with myself.
What else? I play tennis tonight and then I have a break until Monday. I'm trying not to schedule anything at all for this weekend.
I had people over for dinner on Easter and I ended up working until about 7pm (I started at 7am) and when I came home my kids and guests were trying to make mashed potatoes. It was pretty funny. I ended up going out and getting store bought mashed potatoes in the interest of time. We also had pan-seared steak with gorgonzola butter and steamed vegetables.
I saw the movie The Hoax the other day. I really enjoyed it and I'm not really a Richard Gere fan, but he was great in it and I recommend it.
Mack will be gone next week to be a counselor at outdoor school. I'm looking forward to the relative peace and quiet of having only one teenager in the house.
My dad bought a new FJ Cruiser a couple of days ago. It's parked in my garage right now. It's cute, but too boxy for my taste and it's kind of like a fisher price car--everything is big and shiny and plastic. The radio knob is so huge it looks like it's made for people who lack fine motor skills.
I have to go try to finish this writing project.

I think it looks more like Tonka.
I don't know how you can handle working with that man 5 days in a row much less 24. Wow.
