Things were getting a little better, and now they're not so good again. I really need a vacation, alone or with a friend or something. No kids. No contact with the boss.
Mr. S really prides himself on his "ability" to "think outside the box." He gets frustrated with me because he doesn't think I think creatively enough, but usually he's looking for a solution to a problem that (a) doesn't exist, or (b) I know nothing about. For example, we have a complicated computer network authored by our systems administrator, who works for us on an on-call basis. I understand the basics of the network, but nothing beyond that. One time our internet connection went down, and we have a backup connection for emergencies. Mr. S asked me to switch to the backup connection. Well, I have no idea how to do that and I told him so, and he said, "well, think about it and get an idea!" Because, you know, if I think hard enough, I can probably figure out what commands to use to run a script that Joe wrote himself! I told Joe this, and he laughed and said there was no way I could possibly just figure out how to do that.
Well, this morning, we were having an issue with the printer not printing in quite the way Mr. S wanted--a certain area of a black and white map wasn't as dark as he thought it should be. I tried printing it in color, which made the area a sort of blue-gray. I thought it looked really good and the darker area was a lot easier to see. When he asked me how I was going to solve the problem, I told him that printing in color made a real difference and he said that was "totally ludicrous" and he was not going to print in color. I swear, I think he just loves to be unhappy.
Anyway, so much for creative thinking.
Things with my kid are kind of better and kind of worse. The stress is the same.

You think?
thanks for the update....
sorry things are going so badly. He's a real case, I tell you.
I missed the whole French Open. We were away for the finals, so I only heard later that Nadal just nailed Federer to the clay. Didn't see any of the women's. This is what happens when you have to go away. I hope Wimbledon will be better.
