  • this has been an extremely busy and eventful last few days. for those of you who hadn't heard, or didn't meet up with me to keep me company, i had a job driving a limo on saturday night. random you say...i know. i got a call that afternoon from this guy robert, who's on junior high staff with me, and dialog went something like this:
robert: are you interested in making some money tonight
    me: maybe, what's up?
r: have you ever driven a limo before
    m: ...no?
r: do you think it's something you could handle?
    m: ...sure...i'm a good driver

and so on. basically the jist of it is that his brother bought a limo (who does that?), and he, his girlfriend, and friends go out just about every week. well, the driver for the night canceled on them, so he needed to find someone to drive quick. i just to drive them up to viejas, hang out while they were in there (i didn't even have to stay in the car), and drive 'em home. i had to agree. i "worked" from about 7pm to 2am, and there were plenty of interesting little happenings in between, including being accosted by tipsy thirty-something women, but it's better to hear those stories in person. jenna and rachel came up to visit while i was there, which made the night even more fun. it was definitely an adventure. i told him i'd be interested if he ever needed me to drive again, especially for what i got paid (not shabby in the least). we'll see, but this might be the beginning of my limo-driving career.

my other bit of exciting news is that i got cast in a show tonight. it's "picasso at the lupin agile," written by steve martin, yes the steve martin. it's so very funny and witty. it takes place in 1904 at the lupin agile, bar in paris that picasso frequented. it's a hypothetical meeting of a young einstein and picasso. i got the part of the "singer," who is known to be elvis, although his name never appears in the script. so yeah...i'm playing elvis. it's a really fun part. i read for einstein as well, but i guess i was just a better elvis. that's fine. again, it's gonna be so much fun to play. you must all come see the show, it's should be great, a friend of mine got picasso and he's gonna do a great job with it. oh by the way it's playing at the on stage playhouse, a small, but very cool, community theatre in downtown chula vista. well, i must go sleep now, so i won't pass out in class tomorrow...again. sweet dreams everyone and cheers.
