You wanna know what the truth is? I still love you and I probably will love you for a very long time but I cant just be your buddy because as much as I enjoy the concept of being "just friends," in reality its a bizarre form of torture and I'm just not willing to participate in it. So right now what I wanna do is just move on and get over you and the only way for me to do that is to be not around you anymore.

Favourite quote of this post?

Turns out, I have the most amazing boyfriend in the world. I know there are some of you out there (male and female) who would probably disagree because of how amazing your significant others are, but let me be for now ;)

He and I have been together for five consecutive years. We have never broken up, taken a break, or even threatened to do so, and we have never strayed. We started dating freshman year, even though there had been a flirtation and a best friendship there since the previous summer. This past summer travelled across Europe together, just him and I, and we stayed in a castle in Ireland for two weeks. Even though he knows that I love simplistic gestures that hold meaning (such as calling at 7 am singing one of my favourite songs just so that's the first thing I hear when I wake up), he will every now and then do something so unbelievably amazing that I think I am falling in love all over again.

So my boyfriend and I play this game where every time we end our conversations, we end it with a quote. It can be from a book, a movie, a TV show, lyrics from a song, etc. Just absolutely anything. It's not always mushy stuff either - the occasional line from "The Simpsons" or "Lenore: The Cute Little Dead Girl" will slip in. We've been doing it since we started dating. I honestly do not remember how it became a ritual or why, but it's something that I think is unique to our relationship.

I walked into my room the other day and saw a fairy pinata hanging from my ceiling where one of my plants usually hangs. I have a very large room, so he knew that to open it, me swinging something wouldn't be dangerous or lead to things in my room breaking. He wasn't in my room at the time, I should mention. I noticed his baseball bat on my bed and it had a note on it that simply said, "Swing me. You won't be disappointed" So I swung the bat and broke the pinata. All of these little colored pieces of paper poured out of the pinata and on each one was a quote that I had ended our conversation with since the beginning of our relationship five years ago. I didn't even attempt to count how many there were and I am still continuing to go through each one. Each one was handwritten as well, so it must have taken him ages.

I really do have the best boyfriend on the planet.
