The Other Side of Grass

Maybe its Peter Lee's really deep xanga entry or maybe its my really boring life, but i havent been able to think of anything silly/humorous to write about in a while.  I've tried several times but i end up staring at the blank Weblog Entry for about 5 minutes and then i close it or switch over to ESPN.com and read about the NBA playoffs.

Lately I've been thinking about "the grass is greener on the other side."  I don't remember where I heard/read it, but I've heard the rebuttal, "I've laid down a lot of lawnwork in my life, and the grass is never greener on the other side.  It's just brown dirt."  I find that pretty clever, so I like it.  But just because its clever doesn't mean it is necessarily true.

So this could apply to a thousand things, like changes in my job/career, or the city i live in, or my daily habits, or the people i hang out with, or churches, or a girl (i guess i would first have to have a girl for there to be an "other side", but hypothetically work with me here).  I'm torn between wanting something different and wanting to avoid change and uncertainty.  What if whats new and different sucks?  It could be too late to go back to how things were.  Or the new thing could be great, but if I'm too afraid to try it i'll never know how great it could be.

I'm used to summarizing things up in a tidy manner, but this is pretty open ended.  Who knows what the future will bring.  I guess I can always spin the Wheel of Misfortune to leave all my important life decisions up to fate.

. . .i guess that was a kind of tidy finish after all.

goodnight,
-Koller

Back to work

After a really fun weekend in Austin I took a day off work to catch up on my sleep.
I come back Tuesday morning to find out my boss has quit, there's some rumors and speculation as to why but I think she just couldn't bear to work a day without me.

I'm gone for one day and the whole place just falls apart =/

"Exclusive (No Excuses)"

[Willie]
Life is such a crazy thing
It's never really what it seems
Cause first we were chillin
Now I'm catchin feelins
Can you tell me what this means
I'm going through my voicemail
And I'm saving every message you sent
I'm tryna reading between the lines
To see if there was somethin' I missed

[Q]
All of a sudden, my vision became so clear.
Everything I needed was right here,
Before me (before me)
So pressed to let you know
Just how you make me feel
Never had a feeling thats so real
Control me (and i'm ready, girl I'm ready)

[Chorus]
Don't wanna play no games,
I want you exclusive,
Baby, we should just do this,
with the feeling's so strong,
how can we go wrong
No games, I want you exclusive
theres no more excuses
the feelings so right
I want you girl, I need you girl

[Brian A.]
I really love your company,
Hate it when you gotta leave
another oppurtunity,
for me to say everything.
So tell me if i'm buggin,
when you look at me like that (like that).
I wanna say something,
but I dont know how your gonna react.

[Robert]
All of a sudden, my vision became so clear.
Everything I needed was right here,
before me (before me)
So pressed to let you know
just how you make me feel
never had a feeling thats so real
control me. (and i'm ready, girl I'm ready)

[Chorus]
Don't wanna play no games,
I want you exclusive,
Baby, we should just do this,
With the feeling's so strong (strong)
How can we go on?
No games, I want you exclusive
Theres no more excuses (no more excuses)
The feelings so right
I want you girl, I need you girl

[Hook]
You knew it all along,
What was going wrong,
Let me state my claim
Before its too late
I dont care how this may sound,
But you need to know right now
So I might as well just come on out and tell ya

[Mike]
All of a sudden, my vision became so clear
Everything I needed was right here,
Before me (before me)
So pressed to let you know
Just how you make me feel
Never had a feeling thats so real
Control me (and i'm ready, girl I'm ready)

[Chorus]
Don't wanna play no games,
I want you exclusive (exclusive)
Baby, we should just do this (baby lets do this)
With the feeling's so strong (so strong)
How can we go on (Go on)
No games, I want you exclusive
Theres nomore excuses (no more excuses) (ohh baby)
The feelings so right (So right)
I want you girl, I need you girl

[Chorus]
Don't wanna play no games
I want you exclusive (exclusive)
Baby, we should just do this (baby lets do this)

the feelings so right (ohhh)
I want you girl, I need you girl

not dead just no effing internet

comcast is a bia.

They were supposed to hook up our internet yesterday evening, but the technician came at 11am when no one was home and they said they couldnt come back.  I had to reschedule for next week, which sucks so i tried to play it tough and be like "nah man, i'm not gonna do that.  cancel my order i will go to your competitor. . . " but then drew a blank because there really is no competitor for comcast.  Aren't there anti-monopoly laws against this?  I weakly came up with "satellite TV" but i dont think they bought it.  They tried to appease me by offering to squeeze me in on Thursday evening.  Still two days later than when i was supposed to have internet and cable, but i really dont have any options so i took it and cursed my lack of backbone.

So i am writing this entry (along with emails and updating fantasy basketball teams and facebook) from the comforts of my apartment pool which provides free wireless.  I am the only one here fully clothed, and the only one with a laptop.  I don't know why people are looking at me funny, if people werent supposed to bring their laptops out here then why would they offer free wireless.

In other news, my eyeball is bleeding.  i got poked in the eye playing basketball and it burst some vessels or arteries or something like that, and from afar it looks like i have pinkeye but upclose it looks much much worse.

Update and emails completed, going back upstairs.

Pimps Up,
-Koller
