  • Happy Easter

It's a beautiful day in Texas... temps around 70.  I have moved all the plants outside, which means I now have my living room space back.  Of course this means also that we now have weeds to remove, and plants to plant, and grass to mow, and all of those spring time things.

Remember this guy from last year.  Well, this year, in addition to bird feed, I bought squirrel food, I wonder if he will eat the squirrel food or still go for the bird food.  Also, I picked up a hummingbird feeder.  I usually have hummingbirds anyway because they like the flowers I have that I don't know the name of, but maybe this way I will get more.

Skooter made me go to Wal-Mart, I thought I was going to have to take out one of the happy Easter shoppers... I mean honestly, who parks their buggy with their purse in it, in the middle of the aisle by the Easter candy and then wonders four feet from the buggy and leisurely peruses the candy on the Saturday before Easter... I should have grabbed that purse and hit her with it.  Luckily Skooter showed up and stopped me from going mental in the candy aisle at Wal-Mart... that's one lucky woman.  By the way, I wasn't shopping for Easter candy... the cranberry juice just happens to be on the same aisle.  When I used to shop for Easter stuff (like a million years ago), everything was always purchased long before the day prior... on this day I would have been coloring eggs with my child like a normal person.

Son is on his way back to Ithaca.  Estimated arrival time is midnight.  He called and asked me to send the spare key to his car.  For a moment I thought he had lost the key on his way home and went into panic mode.  Turns out his fraternity is having initiation next week, and part of the initiation is giving up your car and living in the frat house.  He has never been one to follow the rules especially when it comes to crazy initiation things.  In ninth grade he refused to participate in the traditional "T"ing that all ninth grade boys are subjected to at our school.  I was proud of him, but I think I realized at that moment how stubborn he can be.

Well, I have prated on enough.

    Peace, Love and Energy,
    Tricia

Looks like the son is doing well for himself.  Hope he had a great trip to Florida.

     Have a great Easter Sunday

It's not quite Spring here yet like it is there. No buds on the trees yet, even. I wish it would start warming up here already! It's in the 30's today. Glad Spring Break went well for your son and that he's on his way back to school.

Hey! No bid is too low!!! I'll take a bottle top, three rubberbands and two buttons if you offer them!

had to chuckle at your walmart adventure -- i know exactly what you mean ... what's in squirrel food? curious to know if the tree rats prefer that or the bird seed... i once put out some crackers & butter cookies for the crows & the squirrels were picking through them for the cookies... have a wonderful weekend!

WOW....I see GREEN down there....we see brown and white.....and still cold............we should warm up a bit in about 2 or 3 weeks.........glad your son had a good spring break...We went to Wally-Mart yesterday and it was a mad scramble on the Easter Candy......you would think as you that they would get a little ahead of the scramble.....

    ....Have a Great Easter

@viscosityofwords - Every year before the biggest dance, which they call "The Belle's Ball"... how southern is that... all the ninth grade boys get their heads shaved with a "T" left... sort of like a mohawk, they are sent home to have their heads shaved to clean up the mess and then in their pictures from the "Belle's Ball" they all look nerdy and everyone knows they are a Freshman... it's almost a 25 year old tradition in our town.  Of course son was not born in Tyler, so he refused to go along..., he did have his hair neatly cut short, but refused to let the seniors "T" him.  The seniors have to have parental permission, which I gave, but took back when I discovered how adamant son was about the process.

I refused to go to The Place I Can't Stand To Shop yesterday. Instead, Mom, Lilbit and I were at the mall!!! (That makes a whole lotta sense, doesn't it??? )

I have to admit, it's nice not having to make Easter Baskets anymore! I always put more than just candy in them. I'd put other things in it, so that there wasn't so much candy period!

Have a Blessed Easter! Love ya! Tracy

@MsCatbert2You - If you can see it, it is the post about my nephew.  I originally had it public, and then decided I should probably post it private.  He's a minor, and sometimes my family and possibly even his crazy mother read my post, so I changed it to private, but I had six comments before I changed it, so it would be that one... can you see it?

    How's Wisconsin?

    Tricia,

Thankyou for bidding on the painting. I will be adding some close up detail photos later on... there are various aspects of the work that just did not show up, in particular the variety of textures and specialty pigments I used.

I applied ultra fine copper and brass filings to the surface in various areas, bonded with a thin clear base that are highly reflective, but only in bright light. It is very subtle and doesn't come across in the first set of photos. The sky has opalescent pigments which has to be viewed at certain angles to be fully appreciated.

I added slightly to the rendering of the clouds, nothing drastic, but slightly different from the posted photo. most viewers wouldn't notice the difference right away, unless it was pointed out to them.

It's still too cold at night to put the plants outside. Maybe soon. And hooray for not following rules!!! Hope your Easter was happy & filled with peace. peace always

Have a wonderful week.  It was sunny here today too!

  • Daizy08

Your pics are lovely.  My daffodils are pretty, but that is the most color I have around here.
Your day at Wal Mart is like most aroud here.  Hate going and wish we could avoid that place!
Sounds like you are having a good day otherwise!
I love the pic of you and Skootr.  Very snapworthy!

Jealous Jealous Jealous and more Jealous.  I'm looking out my window at the forsythia bush's swollen buds, the Lowe's pansies planted for my Easter guests and the spikes of Daffodils and tulips pushing up out of the soil.   Still waiting.   And that you have hummers galls me, too!   That said, thanks for the lovely post for those of us still suffering winter.

  • hellokittylittle

  • bastetmax

Wow am I jealous. There's still snow on the ground here, although it's melting fast and warm week is predicted.

I hope you had a great Easter.
