  • Life Since April 19th...

The last time I posted to Xanga was April 19th..., I should have said, "I am going on HIATUS", but it wasn't planned.  Life has just been super busy, so yeah.  Let me see what has happened since then.

    • Son announced he will stay in New York for the summer. Guess he is a New Yorker now.
    • I went and saw Hank Williams Jr. and he was actually good and sober.
    • Tiger Woods came in second at the Masters and has not played since because of knee surgery.
    • Obama has been having a heck of a time and Jeremiah Wright is not helping.
    • CPS picked up over a 400 children at a Polygamist Sect here in Texas... of those many of the young girls were pregnant, only in Texas.
    • My dear sweet Aunt Pat died - cancer.
    • Spring has come and gone.
    • My nephew got suspended from school, and wrote a short story.
    • Sallie Mae has harassed me endlessly about my student loan, that I just can't afford to pay right now.  I plan to, honestly.
    • Yesterday, during our state mandated TAKS test we had to go to the inner parts of the building because a tornado was spotted.
    • I watched Super Size Me and Fast Food Nation and have sworn off all fast food, at least for now.

I am sure I have left something out.  I mean after all it is Cinco de Mayo weekend.  I don't have any plans, just going to hang out around the house and clean a bit.

    Peace, Love and Energy,
    Tricia

Sounds as if you have been just like I have... busy!  I have been enjoying reading other's posts, but just have sat down long enough to get any thought together.  I will get around to it, one day!  My life is generally so boring that I just don't have a lot to share.

Hope you have a great weekend.  It's absolutely beautiful here!

    Dear Tricia,

Did you get any of those "where are you" comments? I'm finding that I rarely "miss" certain folks anymore because there are always new folks dropping by, and a constant stream of new blogs to visit. I didn't even realize you've been away from Xanga for that long.

You left out my birthday. I turned 55 on May 1st. (Just kidding, I mean it was my birthday, but this has nothing to do with you and your blog) I think I've only been to McDonald's twice since I saw Super Size Me a few years ago, and that was only for the fries. I almost stopped eating beef altogether after seeing Fast Food Nation.

My condolences on the passing of your aunt.

<li>I watched Super Size Me and Fast Food Nation and have sworn off all fast food, at least for now.

    Now I liked those documentary's

Your son must have a good job. I hear NY is outrageously expensive. And likely he has a girl friend that he has no desire to part from. Even if it is just for the summer .

We have yet to really start spring yet.

It is good to hear from you again.

  • Mother_Moonie

You have my deepest sympahty with your Aunt Pat's passing... also on your student loan. I've been there done that. Just do what you can. You will pay it off eventually. I am sure of it!  The world will still turn, and the sun will still come out tomorrow for you and for them. And if it doesn't, it means the world has ended, and we're hopefully in the presence of God.

    Hugs, Tracy

PS. I also updated on my other site... www.xanga.com/Murky_Muffins

  • SoonerRose

Sorry to hear about your aunt.

Saw an old movie the other day about Hank williams jr...I didn't realize he wears the beard to hide the scars from a nasty fall that crushed his face etc.

  • pray14me

@SoonerRose - Yeah, I have seen that movie, John Boy plays Hank, right?  I think that movie made me respect him more, because that is some intense stuff to have to go through.

    Hugs, Tricia

  • pray14me

@Mother_Moonie - Could you tell Sallie Mae that... because clearly they don't believe so, you know they sent my 75 year old mother a letter saying they couldn't contact me and asking her to pay the bill.  What a bunch of c*#p.  I have been in sooooooooo much contact with them that I should put them on speed dial.

I will make it over to check out your other site.

    Hugs, Tricia

  • Sparkling_Rainbow

  • seedsower

It I go out to eat it is for something better than fast food ,I love a greek salad for lunch!
I miss your sweet self on here Tricia!

  • pray14me

@seedsower - And I miss you... and your beautiful garden and photos.  I am coming to see you.

  • PrincessFiveandDime

Most of those children started out in northern Arizona...then they had to find a new place. I think if you send Sallie Mae a $10 check she'll leave you alone until next month.

Look for the pic of my niece with the butterfly on her shoulder.  If you can see that pic then you are seeing it.  You are on my protected list so you should be able to.

So The Boy has decided to stay in New York for the summer.  Will he be working and staying on campus?

Hope you are enjoying a good weekend.  It's been a busy day getting ready for birthday celebrtion tomorrow.  I'm so tired, I can't think straight.

  • roddymccorley

I haven't been on much lately, either. Too much to do! And I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt Pat. Hope your family is okay.

  • StillChris

I'm sorry about your Aunt. Life has sure sucked for you a bit hasn't it. Things can only get better.! HUGS!

  • pray14me

@StillChris - Thanks Chris... I didn't mean to sound so down, but I guess life has kind of sucked, but I am still happy.

  • ElevenStones

I watched Super after I lost the wieght and changed my life, left me wondering why I was still alive.

Sorry to hear about your Aunt, cancer is the reward we get for living long enough in our toxic world.

Spring has not really arrived here yet, but at least snow was taken out of tonights forecast.

  • hellokittylittle

    1. sorry to hear auntie died

    2. what did suspended nephew write story about????

    3. u ok with said son staying in NY???

    4. glad to have u back!

  • pray14me

@hellokittylittle - Suspended nephew wrote a very dark science fiction involving Babylon and the angel of death... not my cup of tea, but pretty good for a kid.  I edited for him and sent it back.

Actually, I am kind of glad that son is staying in New York even though I miss him terribly.  He has a friend here that I would rather him not hang out with.

Thanks... I am glad to be back.

  • WineCountryGirl

You have been gone for quite a while, haven't you?  Must be something about the Spring season, we're all preoccupied with other things.  Good to hear from you!

  • pray14me

@WineCountryGirl - Yeah, spring is a glorious time..., yet I miss my Xanga buddies.

  • JustMeAndy

A mix a happy, a mix of sad, and for the latter I'm most sorry.

I love your slide show and music--very beautifully done :)
