Isn't amazing how if we love to do something we will want to do it all the time! I love basketball, blogging, and government to name a few worldy things I love to do. As result I blog as much as possible, go the the Online Government as much as possible, and play basketball as much as I can. On the flip side, we often have trouble motivating ourselves to do the things that we don't care for. Believe it or not, writing is not really a hobby of mine unless I'm writing about something that interests me. I have a hard time motivating myself to write about symbolism in the Passing of Arthur in school. In fact, had you asked me a year ago if I would be writing 2-3 essays a week for two blogs I probably would have laughed. However, the Lord worked on me and soon writing Biblical based essays become a love.
Jesus said in John 14:15:
If you love Me, keep my commandments.(NKJV)
It is so easy to get wrapped up in our worldly loves and doing those things, that we often forget about what our ultimate Love should be and what our ultimate goal should be. If we were to look at our worldly loves and how we are doing those, then how would they look compared to our God and how we are doing obeying Him? Does our worldly goals out do our spiritual goals? It is an interesting things to think about and we all, including me, should focus on our love for Christ and His commandments. We often say, "I LOVE Jesus!" But is that really true? How are we doing on His commandments? To put it this way: Is our lifesong singing to Him?
Let my lifesong sing to You! ~Casting Crowns
