| | Ha. ha. ha. I'm tired. Semi-crisis in the family, so I'm no longer going to my grandparents' house this week. Now I'm going to stay with some friends of the family, minus internet access (Mrs. Gerber will probably drive me home for all my classes). Lots of extra time for piano and school. And now I'll have to put up with their piano-genius son. Ah well, he'll have to put up with being surrounded by four girls. Life is like that.
For instance: We went to get my passport at the county clerk's office today. Told that we needed a birth certificate (I think my dad forgot to tell us), we rushed home to get that. On the way back, I was reading the application and discovered that it's better to pay by money order and that the passport pictures must be identical (my dad had decided it was cheaper to take the pictures himself...and they weren't identical). We circled the post office three times looking for a parking spot; finally gave up and went to the bank. The bank was crowded, but we got our money order (which will be useless tomorrow since the passport fees go up twelve dollars). Then we headed back to the post office to get the pictures. At last we saw the sign that said "Passports here" and realized that we could, in fact, get my passport there! At the desk (after waiting in line for a quarter hour), the lady told us that it was all by appointment only, even pictures. Ha!
We'll be doing that next week then.
Oh, and the sweater I made half of yesterday didn't turn out. The pattern is flawed. Seriously.
I've been packing today, and I think that a very nice book title would be "My Life in Three Bags." I think I'm actually managing with three bags, too....They simply sag with books.
So long, chaps and chappesses. See y'all next week. |
