| | Hello, friends!
As you might have guessed from the absorbed silence, I've been home and busy for some time now. :) Laundry, reading, and gardening have occupied me. In these last two days, I've turned over soil in two flowerbeds for my summer flowers and dug up a dead rhododendron bush. My back hurts, but I get to plant flowers tomorrow! Everything seems to balance out.
My littlest sister (I don't suppose I should call her my "baby sister" any more ) has her 14th birthday party tomorrow. She decided that she wanted to have a Jane Austen party, so she has decorated the entire house with Austen novels and pictures...not to mention oceans of flowers. Kaitie loves decorating and having parties....odd as it may sound for her to be throwing her own birthday party, she knew what she wanted. :)
Ah, and I mustn't exclude contra dance from my schedule here. :) Contra tonight! My mother and I picked out a new dance this afternoon, after much "ghost dancing" (that's where you dance a 3 couple dance with only one couple ) and groaning as we ran up against steps that we didn't know. It's going to be a jolly dance....unfortunately, it's called "Love and Kisses" which mightn't go over well with the boys, so we've taken our usual liberty and renamed it. The boys handled "The Fairy Reel" with beautiful equanimity, but I think that this would be too much for them. We're calling it "Wishkah River Bore," after an inside joke. :)
Be well!
