London, England - Part 1
OH MY GOD!!! I am so n love with London! It's the city which I once dreamt of and a city that I'm not going to get bored with. A city where I can get everything and a city where it's busy enough to accomodate me. Well, a little more to add.. A city where it's TOO expansive to live in..
There is just so much to do! I have to jot everything down. Start crossing them off one by one. Start making a new list. I got fed up and too much printing from the office Xerox.. I end up resorting to Lonely Planet London City Guide. One book which I never ever regret buying and a book which I read so much for the last one week and one month! Very helpful and very informative.
Another thing that is a must have in London city or coming to the London city will be the London UnderGround map. Travelling is SO SO SO easy with the tube and everywhere is linked and everywhere is within reach and in time!
I guess the queen's favourite colour has to be red. There is the RED double decker, a RED phone booth, a RED postbox and one thing I realise.. England is the only country with so many public phone still... Who in this earth still ue so much of a public phone when a mobile phone now cost almost the same like a can of tuna? The Queen doesn't carry one, I know.. Maybe she still needs the public phone to call Charles to pick her up!
OK.. Let's get the business started. First stop, Leicester Square. the home of the biggest screen in Britain. The home of the European premier. The place where the most Hollywood A-listers would show up for their fiel premier.. Batman was here couple weeks ago.. If Heath Ledger is still alive, probably he will be here as well.
Then the China Town is just a stone throw away. Just 2 street with some few Chinese restaurants and a couple of Chinese Supermarket. Nothing fancy. I bet many other cities have a better ChinaTown.
I like walking around the places. From Leicester Square, about 10-15 mins walk, is where the famous Thames River is and London is basically built from day one from the banks from Thames River. Beautiful view when it comes to this side of the city as it's where the London Eye is and it's overlooking the London famous Big Ben.
It was cloudy and so I had to delay my trip up to the London Eye. I promised myself I must come back to the London Eye and I must take a flight up the capsules. And actuall this view reminds me alot of James Bond movie where Bond driving an Aston Martin and did some car chase around this area. And there is an episode of Simpsons when they visit England. The capsules of the London Eye can be dis-engaged into Thames River and works like a submarine.
England is FULL of the castle like building. More than half of the building within London city is at last 100 years old. Seriously, half of them belongs to the royal family and either the parliament or castle or something like their horse stable. Big Ben is one of the most impressive building I've seen. The structure, the architecture, everything impresses me. listening to it's ding dong sound makes me.. erm.. Happy! But I have to admit to the warning those poms made.. The weather.. Wasn't very pleasant when I want to do sight-seeing.. showers.. Hae to bear the rain to go around.. ARGH!
More old building.. with impressive architecture..
Wanted to visit PM Gordon Brown but Downing Street is under massive construction. Some more is so heavily guarded where I didn't care to climb over the fences else I might be put down for good. I am still young.. I don't want to die..
Trafalgar Square which is round the corner is somewhere I loved and somewhere I would like to do my annual summer tanning.. A place which is just so nice sitting and chilling out. And there is so many people like me.. It's just so... Happening!!!
London is just full of people and people is EVERYWHERE! Every corner you go, every people you see just speaks different language! It's amazing how multi national and multi cultural this country is and make thi their slogan.. London.. Truly Global..
Malaysia multi cultural and multi national? Nothing if compared here.. It's amazing what this city have to offer and it's amazing how I fall in love with this place almost instantly!
