TALES FROM UNDER THE BUS"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell. I know, right now you can't tell. But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me." ~Matchbox 20

At long last, I am feeling halfway well today.  I'm even going to attempt going into the office for a few hours.  We'll see how long I can hold myself upright.  I just hope they don't expect me to help answer the phones.  I don't have much of a voice, having coughed it into oblivion.

But per usual, with every bit of good news, there is also the bad.  My daughter called last night and said she was running a fever of 102.    The newest victim of the Office Malady.  Poor baby.  She asked her brother if he would come over this morning and drive her to the doctor's office.  She's not messing around.  She can't afford to, she has a 5 month old baby to take care of, and found out just yesterday that she and her fiance' are getting 'temporary' full time custody of his 4-year old son.    Another burden on her already too full plate.  I know this is going to stress her out, but she's a feisty redhead that is wise beyond her 20 years, and she will handle it with grace.  She told me yesterday on the phone, "I'm going to marry this man, I need to think of his child as my own."  She knows it will be a tough row to hoe, but also knows they can offer him a more stable home than he's presently in.  God Bless her.  Somehow, despite my faults, I raised a pretty good kid.  I hope her own daughter turns out to be just like her.  I also pray that God spares those sweet little ones from catching this horrible sickness.

I still have the wretched cough, but my head seems to have dried out.  Maybe that's because everything that was up there has turned to liquid and run out my nose.  My poor nose.  Red, raw and now peeling from the abuse of blowing it every 30 seconds.  I have been putting Carmex on it the last couple of days.  (You know, that stuff for chapped lips.)  Even if it's not helping the healing process, it does relieve some of the soreness.

I'm hoping within the next couple of days I will find something new to write about besides this dreadful sickness.  Bear with me, it has been all-consuming.

I was supposed to lose my free xanga premium a couple of days ago, but I noticed this morning that they haven't revoked it yet....hmmmm.  Don't know what's up with that.  Maybe they just overlooked me, or took pity on me because I've been so sick.  Yeah, that's doubtful.  But at any rate, I shall continue to abuse the privilege as long as I have it, so I'll post a daily funny for you today.  I saw this on the web a couple of weeks ago, and it amused me to no end.  I hope those of you of the Republican persuasion take no offense; try to keep a sense of humor about you, will ya?

Happy blogging!
