TALES FROM UNDER THE BUS"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell. I know, right now you can't tell. But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me." ~Matchbox 20

Currently Listening
Here Comes the Weekend

I'm still mulling over the 50,000 words in 30 days project.  It was nice to see some of my xangapals are as anxious as I am to set myself up for another failure.

In related news, the other story I have been working on (I mentioned this months ago in a post) is progressing, albeit slowly.  I considered breifly using this as a basis for the 50M/30 but decided against trashing it with non-thought-out random writing.  I'll just keep plodding along as I'm inspired.  I found a cool little java program that allows me to keep a word count on my progress.  9766 at last count, and I've barely scratched the surface (of the story) so maybe I do know 50,000 words after all.  I'll just rearrange them if I decide to tackle the 50M/30.    The thing that scares me the most about this challenge is not the writing.  Its whether or not I can follow the technical rules.  To say I'm techno-challenged is being kind.  They start talking computerese and my eyes glaze over...  It was out of sheer luck that I figured out xanga.  (Well, sorta figured it out, anyway.  When they added the 'rich text' feature to my classic setup, it nearly intimidated me right out of here.  I still don't touch most of those buttons.... *sigh*)

I'm hoping for an easy/early day at work today.  Because I have Adventures in Babysitting this afternoon with the grandchildren.  DU is working a recruiting meeting up in Michigan.  SIL is still working massive overtime, as the plant he's working in is picking up the slack from the other plants that have dedicated their lines to running strictly FEMA units.  Its all good.  Its getting them out of debt.  Amazing what an extra $1,000 per week in earnings will do to your debt ratio, if you don't mind the 50-60 hour work week.

Another weekend is upon us.  Squeeze it for all the fun you can get.

Happy blogging.

NaNo sounds like an incredible experience, especially if a person can write fiction.  Let us know if you go for it.  I think your site would look great with one of their Winner icons featured :)

Have a great weekend !!

Good luck on the 50k.  As blabby as I am, I don't think I could do it.  Sounds like you are off to a good start though!  And good luck with the Adventures in Babysitting.  You need a super-hero cape or something!!!

I tried NaNoWriMo last year and failed miserably, but I was busy with so much going on I wasn't able to devote enough time to it. But I still have the unfinished novel that I started and have tinkered with it since that time. I found myself freed up during the process and was really coming up with plot ideas left and right when I was doing the NoNoWriMo thing. It wasn't very well written, but my creativity was unleashed, so there is something to it. Good luck if you decide to give it a try.
