One of our local radio stations played an April Fool's joke on the listening public yesterday.  I didn't actually hear it myself, but a couple of the girls at work related the play-by-play.  They announced that the illustrious governor of our state had decided all of Hoosierville was going to adopt the metric system.....effective immediately.  The weather personality delivered our forecast in metric numbers (winds in kph, temp in Celsius, etc.).  They even had the former mayor of SB in on the gag, giving his opinions on why this would be "good for the state", that we would "lead the way" for the rest of the U.S., yada, yada, yada.

Infuriated people were calling in, up in arms over the change.  I think people were apt to believe it because 1) our governor is just that much of an idiot, and 2) they played this gag the day before April 1 (because this particular show doesn't air on weekends).
