TALES FROM UNDER THE BUS"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell. I know, right now you can't tell. But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me." ~Matchbox 20

The Rebels of Ireland : The Dublin Saga

I owe Emme a debt of gratitude for making good on her offer of sharing the warmth.  The temps here this weekend reached into the 90's.  Wonderful!  You'll never hear me complain about the heat.

The AMP, languishing under its solar blanket, gained nine degrees in two days time, taking enough chill out of the water for me to actually spend a little time on a floaty raft yesterday.  (Notice I did not say swimming.... it's still a bit brisk for total immersion.)

Our family holiday celebrations were held here on Sunday, concurrent with SU's 20th birthday.  He actually asked me, "So, Mom, do you feel old now that you officially have no more teenagers?"  "Why yes, darling, thanks for reminding me.  Have you picked out my retirement home yet?"  That kid has always been a smartass.....I wonder where he gets that?

I spent a good deal of my down time this weekend soaking up the warmth and reading.  After a trip to the library last Wed, I was concerned that I had checked out more words than I can actually read in three weeks time.  But I've made pretty good headway.....I'm about 500 pages into an 800 page novel ("Rebels of Ireland", Edward Rutherfurd's newest), then I'll start on the Thomas Hardy collection I found.  I'm looking forward to revisiting some of his stories that I haven't read since high school ("Far From the Madding Crowd"), which seems like two lifetimes ago by now.  It seems everywhere I turn, I'm reminded of my age lately.

And now, the day nurse has just reminded me that it's time to take up my walker and return to the work force.  Let's hear it for 4-day work weeks!

Happy blogging.

I just read Rebels of Ireland not too long ago.  Did you read Princes of Ireland as well?  Its good too.

So far I have my neighbor and her boyfriend and my daughter says a couple of her friends are willing to help with the pool.  I think my cover is going to fall apart though trying to get it off.
