TALES FROM UNDER THE BUS"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell. I know, right now you can't tell. But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me." ~Matchbox 20

Currently Listening
Someday You'll Grow Up
By Lisa St. Ann
see related

I hate having to push the previous post/link farther down the page, because I feel anyone visiting here should click on it and go have a good laugh.

However.

In yesterday's post, Nan posed a set of interesting questions to her readers inquiring if they considered themselves grown-ups, and then NPR discussed similar issues on Talk of the Nation.  If you click on the link, you'll hear about a new (??) phenomena in the world of should-be grown-ups.  You'll also learn new words, like rejuvenile, grups, and Peter Pandemonium.

Happy blogging.

interesting stuff... i don't think i'll ever completely grow-up & really don't feel like an adult most of the time... it's weird -- sometimes i take myself too seriously & other times i don't take myself seriously enough... but i consider myself a responsible person... i believe we should keep the inner child alive always... RYC: this weather is getting to me ... the rain & the humidity... my cats (both long-haired) are lying stretched out on their backs with their feet up in the air, trying to catch a cool breeze from the open windows...

I listened to that installment of Talk of the Nation show yesterday. Peter Pandemonium was my favorite phrase. I still like to watch bugs bunny cartoons. Does that make me a Peter Pandemonium?

I think of my mother when she was the age I am now, and in my mind, she was much older then, than I am now.  And it makes me wonder if she felt like a "grown up" at the time or if she wrestled with the same thoughts.

I certainly don't advocate a return to childhood as a way to abdicate responsibility, but I think it's fabulous that someone finally stood up and asked "Why can't I still do this ??"

ryc:  I think there is a great deal of truth in what you're reading.  I find I have to keep pushing the thoughts away, and refuse to let myself linger on them.  Eventually, they fade.  Hopefully, the thoughts will catch on to this as well.  Thanks, sis :)

Okay, I'm guilty. I don't always click on the links. I'll probably go over there tomorrow. Anyway, I can tell you right now that I'm probably considered pretty adult. I was adult when I was a kid!

RYC: thanks for the comment about my non-friend. Hubby and I had a long talk and he can't see how she's a user, but I'm not sure. He thinks she's just spacy and not thinking. But I can't see how someone can space out THAT MUCH and forget to invite me to parties, etc. I think you are probably right, and I'm just ready to move on. Blogging about it helped me leave the pain behind. Your support was really helpful.
