TALES FROM UNDER THE BUS"But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell. I know, right now you can't tell. But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see A different side of me." ~Matchbox 20

Currently Listening
A Day in the Life of Leo: Classical Music for You and Your Cat
see related

When I first heard this story, I was not as amazed as some people might be, but I was surprised to find several other videos of piano playing cats posted on YouTube.

If you've been a longtime reader, you'll probably recall my story about my own piano playing cat, Simon.  Every time I sit down to practice, there he is, playing along.  He, however, has a different approach.  He prefers to lie on top of the piano and reach down from above to play the keys, generally with both paws.  Like Nora, he likes the treble keys, although less frequently, will provide a bass accompaniment.

I pondered whether his involvement was an attempt to get me to stop playing.  A (not so favorable) critique of sorts.  Some of you suggested perhaps he was jealous of me spending time with the piano instead of him.

I think now the answer is clear.  Cats love music.

Happy blogging.

the sound isn't working on my computer, but the video was great! bad boy loved to walk across the piano & he liked when i played guitar, but lady onyx leaves the room when i take out the guitar ... i'm curious to see how zippy will react to the piano & guitar... must be fun to have Simon participate in playing music...

I loved watching Nora's ears turn to hear the music...she really seemed to love the sounds.

and I can't get our cats to figure out how to drink out of a water bottle.   I have smeared cat food on the little ball in the spicot, showed them how the water comes out, let them see it drip......they won't do it.....

but they will drink out of the bathtub faucet....LOL!!!

That's just too cute!  I always wish I had learned the piano.  Never too late, maybe when I strike it rich I'll do that.
