| | It's the first day of Spring. The sun is actually shining in Hoosierville this morning. A sure sign of spring in these parts, even if the temperature is 27°F. But still, the sun is a welcome surprise. We'll just ignore the fact that they've posted a winter storm advisory for tonight and tomorrow. How can there be a winter storm when it's spring? They should call it a spring storm advisory. With snow. (We Hoosiers are not fooled by a date on the calendar. We know that spring actually comes in May. Or June. Or whenever the hell it gets around to it and the temperature creeps above the freezing mark.) My house is a total disaster right now. I'd take pictures, but honestly, there is not much to see. Only piles of furniture in the middle of rooms, draped with tarps. Or the carpet, which currently is wall to wall visqueen (Hmmmm, I'm not even sure how to spell that....) covered in plaster spatters. It makes for some slippery walking, covering everything in plastic. It doubles the challenge when you try to walk without slipping and try to avoid the plaster globs so that you don't track it throughout the house on the bottom of your shoe/foot. But the good news in all of this is the walls have received their second coat of plaster and are looking smoother. Gone are the endless patch marks and countless nail holes. Gone is that gawdawful poorly done texturing. After waiting two weeks for this process to begin, the crew has promised to finish the final smoothing process by tomorrow. Gone will be the most unreliable plaster crew in history. Just in time for our anniversary on Saturday. I've always dreamed of spending my 28th wedding anniversary slapping primer paint on newly plastered walls. Someone must have told. Happy blogging. pw
